Reports Hint That Captain Marvel Will Lead The New Avengers Team

After Captain Marvel got her first standalone movie and her small but crucial role in 'Avengers: Endgame', it seems evident that Captain Marvel is going to play a very crucial role in MCU's future. But to go one step further, reports suggest that Carol Danvers may soon find herself as the new leader of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. This idea was teased for quite a while now, mostly in a Captain Marvel behind-the-scenes featurette where Kevin Feige speaks about what important part the heroine will play in the franchise moving forward.

 

Feige said, "Now Captain Marvel is about to take the lead, and be at the forefront of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe." Some sources close to We Got This Covered has confirmed that what Feige said is indeed what the studio’s planning. From our understanding, even though the original Avengers are done, Marvel is still looking a way to bring us another iteration of the team.

 

While the team has been named, ' New Avengers', one mustn't confuse it with Young Avengers, who are also appearing at the MCU soon and Captain Marvel will be the leader of the group. The source also confirmed that Black Panther and Sam Wilson's Captain America will be the “co-leaders” and together these three heroes will make the franchise go forward. 

 

What seems to be known is how exactly is this team going to be formed or what will happen to the other prominent superheroes like Spider-Man and Doctor Strange, but let us just assume that phase 4 will focus heavily on second solo adventures of Carol Danvers, Spiderman, Stephen Strange, T’Challa and more before Phase 5 sees the remaining heroes form this New Avengers team, with Captain Marvel leading the way.

 

Even though there are a number of reports going around, Marvel has not confirmed any news yet. But from the hints that have been dropped, it looks like it is pretty clear that this is the direction they’re heading to.
