Aquaman 2 Begins Filming

It's official folks! Aquaman 2 production has begun. The mega-star Jason Momoa arrived on set in London on Monday, joining his castmates as the cameras began rolling.

Jason Momoa made the announcement on his Instagram, also telling the world to say goodbye to his brown hair as he is going blonde for his Aquaman role.

In the video he says:

I am finally in England. It is sunny, it is amazing, and we start Aquaman 2 tomorrow. This is the last day of the brown [hair]. I'm gonna be a blonde. [They] supposedly have more fun. I don't know about that, we'll test it out. But, I'm excited to see James [Wan] and the whole cast. And I just wanted to send my love to all my friends, cast members, and crew back at See, I will see you soon. I love you and I miss you very much, Canada.

In the caption he wrote:

Jason Momoa is joined on set by Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Temuera Morrison.

There was some controversy surrounding Amber Heard's return but she will indeed be reprising her role as Mera in the sequel. Heard arrived in London last month, sharing a picture on Instagram of a welcome card from James Wan. So it's obvious that Amber Heard hasn't been fired from the Aquaman series. It'll be interesting to see how the decision to keep Amber Heard on will affect ticket sales for the film. Will people actually boycott the film or is it all just talk? Only time will tell.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is expected to hit theaters on Dec. 16, 2022.
