For months now, we heard countless rumors and speculations that the three Spider-Men will appear in Tom Holland's upcoming movie, 'Spider-Man: No Way Home.' The rumors claim that former wall crawlers Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will appear alongside Holland in the threequel.

However, it seems that all of it is nothing but... rumors.

Andrew Garfield recently appeared in a podcast and insisted that he is not suiting up and won't appear in 'No Way Home.'

"It's f---ing hilarious to me," Garfield told Josh Horowitz's in Happy Sad Confused podcast. "Because I do have this Twitter account, and I see how often Spider-Man is trending. It's people freaking out about a thing, and I'm just like, guys. Guys. I wish I could just be able to speak to everyone and say, 'I recommend that you chill.'"

Several Spider-Man alumni are already confirmed to return for the upcoming film. This includes Jamie Foxx, who will be returning as Electro. Fox appeared in the Garfield movies. Alfred Molina, who appeared as Dr. Octopus in the Maguire film series, is also confirmed to reprise his role.

Foxx and Molina's casting has fired up the rumors about Maguire and Garfield's return.

Garfield finally broke his silence and set things straight once and for all.

"I did not get a call," the 37-years-old actor added. "I would've gotten a call by now. That's what I'll say. I don't want to rule anything out. Maybe they want to call me. Maybe they want to call me and say, 'Hey, people want this.'"

Back in February 2021, Tom Holland echoed the same statement. The actor also denied the return of Maguire and Garfield in the third film.

"No, no, they will not be appearing in this film," Holland firmly told Esquire when asked about the possibility of the two actors returning. "Unless they have hidden the most massive piece of information from me, which I think is too big of a secret for them to keep from me. But as of yet, no. It'll be a continuation of the Spider-Man movies that we've been making."

Despite the insistent denials, fans are still hoping that these are nothing but a ploy to keep the surprise appearance hidden.

'Spider-Man: No Way Home' is coming to theaters on 17 December 2021. It stars  Angourie Rice, Zendaya, alongside Holland. Benedict Cumberbatch is also coming as Doctor Strange.

Guess we will have to wait till then to confirm if the anticipated appearance is happening or not.
