The first season of this show has taken the characters on a gritty journey with excellent writing and has won the favor of the audience and critics alike. Will Andor Return For Season 2?

Disney has officially renewed Andor for season 2 even before the release of the first season. It is clear that Disney was betting big on this one. However, it was also confirmed that the second season will be the final season.

When Is Andor Season 2 Releasing?

Andor creator Tony Gilroy announced at a Star Wars Celebration event that the second and final season of Andor will premiere in August 2024. "We started shooting in November," Gilroy said. "We’re halfway. We will finish shooting in August, a year on post, and we’ll come out in the following August." He also stated that the series ending after Season 2 was, "a decision born of survival, but it’s been creatively potent... It’s good to know there’s an ending coming.”

What Is The Plot Of Andor Season 2?

There is no clarity about the second season’s plot details but so far we do know that it started filming in London on November 21, 2022, and according to rumors it’s most probably wrapping up somewhere in August 2023 after which the post-production begins. We can also expect to see twelve episodes in this season as well. So far we are aware that Andor season one commenced five years before the events of Rogue One, which was released in 2016, and 1977’s A New Hope. We meet Cassian Andor who is a thief turned revolutionary after joining the Rebellion against the Galactic Empire. We can look forward to Cassian’s story in the second season as it continues to follow his journey into becoming a crucial member of the Rebel Alliance as they become more unified.

Most of the cast from season one are likely to return for season 2 with Diego Luna as the titular Cassian Andor, Stellan Skarsgård as rebel leader Luthen Rael, Kyle Soller as Syril Karn, Adria Arjona as Bix Caleen and Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera. Tony Gilroy will return as the showrunner and executive producer, with Dan Gilroy, Beau Willimon, and Tom Bissell as writers. The second season will be distributed worldwide by Disney+.
