An unlikely horror film franchise is expanding it's universe and here is what you need to know about the 'quiet' and creepy spinoff prequel.
Back in 2018, no one really expected to see Paramount releasing a horror movie that grossed $630 million worldwide, garnered critical acclaim, and even kickstarted a franchise of its own. But now we are finally getting yet another movie in this series and fans are excited to see what's in store for them. John Krasinski took to the director’s chair for the first film but this time around, he won’t be starring or directing this film. So what lies ahead for this horror film franchise with a conceptually new alien species plaguing Earth? Read ahead to find out everything there is to know about the future of A Quiet Place: Day One.
A Quiet Place: Day One was first set to hit theaters worldwide on March 8, 2024. This release date was postponed from September 22, 2023, in order to not clash with the major releases from Universal and Disney. However, now the film has been postponed even more to 2025.
The original films showed us how a family battles the odds in day-to-day life in order to survive the attacks from blind but deadly creatures who are sensitive to noise and are responsible for wiping off most of humanity. There are no exclusive details about the plot of A Quiet Place: Day One yet but we can expect more information to be released as the production progresses. For now, all we can tell is that this spinoff might narrate the story of a new set of characters before the invasion and the origin story of the creatures. This film might also answer a few burning questions that were left unanswered in the last films of this franchise.
As per the information on the internet so far, none of the original cast members will be returning for this film. Instead, we have two new additions to the list of top-billed cast members. Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o and Stranger Things star Joseph Quinn are all set to essay unspecified roles in this spinoff. Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou, and Denis O'Hare have also joined the cast. This film will be directed by Michael Sarnoski and distributed by Paramount Pictures.
