Touted to be one of the most popular musicals ever, Grease was released in 1978 and became an iconic part of pop culture ever since. Featuring John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John in the lead roles, the movie also had a gang of Pink Ladies consisting of Stockard Channing as Betty Rizzo, Didi Conn as Frenchy, Jamie Donnelly as Jan, and Dinah Manoff as Marty Maraschino. Despite its widespread appeal, the film did make a couple of blunders along the way. Some may be obvious but the others are pretty subtle. The pair are walking on the beach just before the pre-credits. Initially, Danny is on the left of Sandy but just as they are about to kiss, they seem to have switched positions.
At the beginning of the scene, the American flag is on Principal McGee's desk at the far end but later, the camera moves closer and you'll notice it appears right in front of her!
Sandy's lips don't move according to the lyrics at the start of the song. It looks like an audio problem that the editors missed out.
By the end of the film, when the cast begins to sing We Go Together, John Travolta seems to have missed the right lyrics. Instead of singing "we'll always be like one," the actor mouths "that's the way it should be."
The Elvis Presley-style peppy number, Greased Lightning is such a fun song you might miss out on this small error but try to stay focused. You'll be able to spot two white mattresses that appear out of nowhere! Perhaps they were props to help the cast during jumps.
When Rizzo gets off of the bed, she is holding a cigarette in one hand and a bottle of wine in the other but in the next shot, the items have switched places!
When Danny and Sandy are at the jukebox in the soda shop, you can clearly see the reflection of the crew with someone holding the boom mic.
