All of us need an escape from the daily grind and fantasy shows do exactly that. We are currently in a fantasy show boom, with stories from across the spectrum featuring realms that entice us enough to watch them. If you’re looking for something to binge on, you’re at the right place. Here are some fantasy shows that you can add to the watch-list right away.

1. House of the Dragon (HBO Max)

If you've watched the original Game of Thrones, and even if you haven’t, it is a wonderful idea to dive into the Iron Throne universe and see how family dynamics affect politics deeply enough to cause conflict. With hard-core language and visuals, the show is not for the faint of heart. Without spoiling too much, start strumming the guitar to Sweet Home Alabama. Follow the Targaryen family as they struggle with a power shift and some wars that can never be won, in the first season of the show.

2. The Sandman (Netflix)

Born from the mind of Neil Gaiman, the show is based on the comic book run that amassed hundreds of fans. It follows the protagonist Morpheus, Dream of The Endless. After being trapped for 100 years, he is finally freed, only to realize that his tools have gone missing and humanity has slipped into a situation that would take over 10 episodes to resolve. While the show itself is brilliant, the story world and character dynamics created are equally captivating. Don’t forget to watch the bonus episode for more fun and fascination.

3. Good Omens (Amazon Prime Video)

Looks like we’re on a Neil Gaiman roll! Created and written by Gaiman, and based on his book (written along with Terry Pratchett), this show is an amalgamation of fantasy and mythology. It follows the fussy angel Aziraphale and loose-living demon Crowley, as they form an unlikely duo venturing into Earth on a mission to stop the approaching Armageddon. This is when they look for the Antichrist residing in an 11-year-old boy, unaware that he is causing the end to be nigh. With whip-smart banter and brilliant acting, the show creates its own persona.

The show follows an orphan Alina Starkov as she accidentally discovers she has powers strong enough to bridge the Fold, a chasm of land where nothing grows, is dark all the time, and infested with creatures known as Volcras who have a taste for human flesh. As Alina joins the order known as Grisha, they train her into becoming one known as the Sun Summoner and join hands with The Darkling to bring Ravka together. However, there is truth and betrayal lurking in the corner.

Toss a coin to your Witcher! Filled with an incredible cast and some alluring set pieces, the show follows a monster-hunting being known as the Witcher. His name, however, is Geralt of Rivia. Alternating between timelines, the story shows how the monster-hunter makes some unexpected friends, alliances that end in betrayal, love that always seems lost, and a promise that he can seemingly never keep.
