The Jennifer-Garner starrer is an upcoming Netflix Original comedy movie directed by Miguel Arteta.
Jennifer Garner will be playing Allison Torres in the upcoming Netflix Original comedy movie Yes Day directed by Miguel Arteta. The film is based on a novel of the same name written by authors Amy Krouse Rosenthal and Tom Lichtenheld. For those who have watched Jim Carrey's Yes Man, the plot is eerily similar, reports What's On Netflix. Carrey's character decides to say "yes" to everything, instead of saying "no" all the time.

Allison (Jennifer Garner) and Carlos Torres (Edgar Ramirez) plan on saying “yes” to the requests of all of their children throughout the entire day. Did you know the book inspired Garner in real-life? Her three children—son Samuel, 8, and daughters Seraphina, 12, and Violet, 15—with ex-husband Ben Affleck are all fans of the novel. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, she shared, "All of this started because I've done "yes days" with my kids since my middle daughter was young. She loved that book so much! One day, she asked me if we could have a yes day and that it's all she wanted for Christmas and I agreed. It was before the trend really caught on. We started the tradition about eight or nine years ago and we've been doing them ever since."
Garner also noted that a picture she posted of one of her days spent with her children where she looked exhausted caught the eye of Yes Day producers Lawrence Grey and Ben Everard. The pair decided they'd love to turn the idea into a film. "I just love the way Allison came together," she said of her character. "She was this adventurer who was up for any challenge in the world and then she had kids," Garner said. "Every day you're just trying to keep everyone safe and fed and doing the best job that you can as a mom and you just lose some of the fun."

As for her costar, who isn't particularly known for his roles in comedy, Ramirez revealed, "That's exactly why I took on this role. I'm a very curious person, and one of the most beautiful things about being an actor is that I get to try new things. When Jennifer and Miguel reached out about a movie specifically on being open to new adventures, it encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone. What I love about the idea of a yes day is how everyone can benefit from having one, not just kids. Try it! It might benefit your relationship at home and at work, and most importantly with yourself." It'll be exciting to see how their chemistry pans out on screen!
This will be Jennifer Garner's first Netflix Original film. More recently Edgar Ramirez starred in the Netflix Original crime-thriller The Last Days of American Crime. Apart from Garner and Ramirez in the lead, the film also features June Diane Raphael (from Long Shot) as Aurora Peterson and Jenna Ortega as Katie Torres. This is Ortega's fifth Netflix Original role. The actress starred in Richie Rich, You, and The Babysitter: Killer Queen. She also lent her voice for the role of Brooklyn in Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.
