The Wizards of Waverly Place may have made a star out of Selena Gomez, who played Alex Russo on the show, but we all know who actually stole the show. Harper Finkle and her out-of-the-world wardrobe. Harper was Alex's quirky best friend who wore whatever she wanted to and rocked it with confidence. Her sense of fashion was ahead of its time, and she was nothing short of a teen avant grade pioneer. TikTok would have loved her for sure!
We can be sure of that too since Jennifer Stone, the actor who played Harper, took to TikTok to revisit some of her character's best and worst outfits. Needless to say, it was nothing short of iconic, and we got Stone's opinion about her beloved character as well.
Joining the TikTok trend of categorizing things into either "works of art" or "bulls***" Stone picked seven outfits from her 91 episode tenure on the show to share with the world. "Hey, they can’t all be winners though kudos to our costume department!" she wrote in the caption and rated Harper's outfits, one of which she even admitted to stealing from the sets all those years ago.
The racecar dress with the matching steering wheel beret and tiny earrings is something Stone approved of. She even mentioned how she liked to make people laugh with the honking hat. It even has a nameplate with Harper's name on it.
Stone, however, did not like her shell-themed dress with the clam accessories. It looks cute and would not be amiss on a beach, but Stone noted how it was "sharp and stabby," giving it a thumbs down.
Next was the ducky pond-themed dress with the matching boat hat. We can all agree on how cute this outfit is. In fact, Stone liked it so much she took it home with her.
Lady Gaga, who? Harper Finkle, with her meat hat and dress, was making a wave with her bold fashion choices as well. But Stone did not like the meat hat.
Another iconic outfit was the marker dress. While Stone could appreciate the masterpiece that the dress was, she also noted that it was actually "heavy as lead."
And last but not the least, her chicken outfit that does look cute but Stone did not like the Big Bird aesthetic of her outfit.
In the TV show, Harper came from a family of entertainers and also supposedly grew up in a circus. Her eccentric outfits don't come as a surprise after all. Stone, on the other hand, went on to get a nursing degree after she was diagnosed with latent autoimmune diabetes in adults (LADA), also known as Type 1.5 diabetes, and wanted to know more about it. Stone also shared the video on Instagram.
