The first season received rave reviews. Moreover, the numbers and scores are reason enough for one to expect the second installment of the show.
'Wise Man's Grandchild' or 'Kenja No Mago' in Japanese, is a manga adaptation written by Yoshioka and illustrated by Shunsuke Ogata. The manga serialized in Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace Up website from March 2016. The manga comes in nine tankōbon volumes. The manga was then adapted into an anime television series by Silver Link that premiered on April 10, 2019, for the first time. Fans have shown tremendous love, and the anime has received positive responses so far. Fans now want to know whether or not there will be a second season of 'Wise Man's Grandchild.' Here's everything we know about the renewal of the anime television series.
The first season of the anime consisted of just 12 episodes and the anime television series ended on June 26, 2019. The first season received excellent reviews, and the numbers and scores are favorable and reason enough to consider the second installment of the show. On MyAnimeList, 'Wise Man's Grandchild' scored 6.61/10 based on 124,793 votes. Knowing the fact that 'Kenja no Mago' is based on a Japanese light novel series of the same name, it currently contains nine volumes.
Unfortunately, the light novel ended its serialization back on December 29, 2018, when the last volume was issued. It is, therefore, hard to guess or say whether the 12-episodes in the first season covers the entire nine-volume, or there are more volumes left so that the sources and material can be used to make a new season out of it. Even though we do not know the exact situation, but if we think about the possibilities, then it is less possible that the Silver Link studio would have managed to compile the story of nine-volumes and show it in single-cour anime.
Also, Kadokawa wants to focus on creating and fostering new hit series and intends to release one Isekai anime per season at least. Kadokawa's producers have already started talking about 'The Rising of The Shield Hero' season 2 and Re: Zero Season 2. Therefore, if they can have a renewal, then why cannot Kenja no Mago have a renewal, right?
The story revolves around a Japanese salaryman who dies in a car accident. He gets another life and is reborn in another world in the form of a child. He gets picked up by Merlin Wolford who happened to be a patriot hero, who gave him the name Shin. The world in which Shin was born, is ruled by sorcery and magic. Eventually, Shin turns into a grandson of Merlin and learns Merlin's teachings. Season 1 of the anime television series premiered in April 2019 on AT-X. Soon, it was picked up by Tokyo MX, BS11, and other Japanese TV channels and networks. The anime is based on eponymous light novel series, which was written by Tsuyoshi Yoshioka, and in North America, the series was licensed by Funimation.
Even though we do not have much information about the second installment of the anime television series, however, we do know that the first season of the anime covered the magical beach volleyball scene. However, manga Chapter 26 consists of additional sunscreen shenanigans, breast suffocations, and delinquent Grandpa fishing, which we hope can get covered for the second installment.
