Will There Be More Seasons Of 'Tiger King' On Netflix?

The feud between Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin does not seem to have ended yet which could give Netflix an idea to continue the 'Tiger King' story.

'Tiger King'

When Tiger King was first released on Netflix, it became one of the most successful releases to date on the streaming site. The true-crime documentary series followed the life of former zookeeper and convicted felon Joe Exotic as well as explored the deeply interconnected community of big cat conservationists and collectors in America. The first season premiered on March 20, 2020. It was watched by 34.3 million people over its first ten days. The outrageous nature of the show led it to become an internet sensation.

The show is named after the eponymous Joe Exotic, the eccentric owner of the G.W. Zoo in Oklahoma, and the events leading to his conviction under federal murder-for-hire statutes for a period of 22-years. The shocking events of the big cat collector world left the audience in awe. Netflix decided to renew the show for another season that picked up in the immediate aftermath of Exotic's imprisonment. Season 2 was released on November 17, 2021, and explored the theories surrounding the Disappearance of Don Lewis the husband of Carole Baskin, CEO of Big Cat Rescue in Tampa, Florida.

Following these two seasons, another follow-up documentary Tiger King series was released. Tiger King: The Doc Antle Story released on December 12, 2021, is a docuseries that details the disturbing allegations of sexual abuse, violence, and misconduct by big cat zoo owner Bhagavan “Doc” Antle. Doc was featured in the first season of Tiger King. This three-part miniseries was released on December 10, 2021. It exposes his child sexual abuse and abduction with regard to his former partners some of them when they were as young as 11-years-old.

As for the third installment following the story of Joe Exotic, those who seemed to find the first two seasons truly entertaining are hoping for another season with an updated series of events. Exotic was recently resentenced to 21 years reducing his punishment by only one year. This is despite pleas from the former zookeeper for leniency as he begins treatment for early-stage cancer, reported NPR. Baskin attended the proceedings as well and stated, "He continues to harbor intense feelings of ill will toward me." The feud between the two does not seem to have ended yet which could give Netflix an idea to continue the Tiger King story.

However, so far there has been no official announcement from Netflix regarding a new season of the show.
