If there is a season 2, which hopefully there will be, there is a high probability that tells that the second installment of the series will release in the same time of the year to the first season.
After collecting applauds and appreciation in the first season, 'What/If' is all but set to return again and fans cannot really wait. The series is created by Mike Kelley who created 'Revenge', and the drama is based in San Francisco and shows some erotic thrillers from the 1990s. It is one of the most talked about Netflix Original series, and now fans want to know everything coming up next. Here's everything we know so far about season 2 of 'What/If'.
Even though Netflix hasn't given any nod for season 2, fans needn't have to worry, as the giant streaming service mostly renews its original series in the weeks or months after the premiere of the first season. Netflix does not commission multiple seasons at a time. Since the first part of the series was released on May 25, we can say that there is a lot of time for any renewal news to surface.
The release date of season 2 can only be confirmed after another series is renewed. If there is season 2, which hopefully there will be, there is a high probability that tells that the second installment of the series will release in the same time of the year to the first season. Therefore, we can expect the second season to hit around May 2020.
Fans definitely want to know a lot of things which they deduced from the first season. By the end of the first season, fans saw that Anne Montgomery, played by Zellweger was believed to have died for the entire world. However, she was seen alive, enjoying life in the sun away from San Francisco. It is believed that Anne killed herself by setting her childhood apartment on fire. Her stocks and Emigen's value were moving towards zero and Liam Strom's men were after her. The role of Liam Strom is played by Julian Sands.
Once Foster killed Liam in the apartment before he himself surrendered to a bullet wound, along with her dying mother in the next room, Anne took advantage of the opportunity to make it look that they all died in the apartment fire. This scenario has left fans thinking about how exactly Anne managed to escape and find her way out of such a frightening situation.
Fans would also see the consequences and aftermath that takes place after the death of Dr. Ian Harris. Ian was shot in the head by Angela after he kidnapped her to a cabin in the woods. He planned on deviating and murdering Angela's husband Todd into the wilderness so that he could spend the rest of his life with Angela, his former flame. But, things didn't go as planned by the doctor, and instead, Angela shot him in the head after he was trapped by a bear trap.
The second installment of 'What/If' will also show whether or not Lisa and Sean will reconcile after their differences and emotional final scene. Fans would also want to see how Marcos and Lionel's marriage turns out to be. And whether Kevin will have anything to do with their romance.
Well, in spite of getting IMDb rating as of 6.7, fans did like the first season and want to see season 2 happening. One Twitter user wrote, “The level of over the top scenery chewing on @what_if from @netflix is something I forgot I needed after Revenge went off. Please bring Renée back for season two!!”
