Mom's Surprise ABBA Dance Performance Steals the Show at Wedding, Leaving Bride and Groom in Awe! Watch the Epic Moment!
People often go to great lengths to make their wedding day truly unforgettable. Friends and family members join in, aiming to surprise the bride and groom in ways they could never anticipate. Sadie Cloward and David Alvarez, a newlywed couple, had no idea what awaited them when Cloward's mother, Heather Hagen, decided to prepare a truly unique performance for their special event.
The couple exchanged vows at the picturesque Homestead in Oak Glen, California. Little did they know that Hagen had something extraordinary planned for the after-party. Suddenly, amidst the celebrations, Hagen appeared on stage, captivating everyone's attention. Her surprise performance to the iconic ABBA hit from the past was nothing short of spectacular.
In a viral video shared on Cloward's Instagram account, @getknittyywithit, we witness the bride's elation as she cheers on her mother. Overflowing with joy, Cloward enthusiastically jumps up and down, unable to contain her excitement. As the familiar tunes of "Super Trooper" from the musical film 'Mamma Mia!' fill the air, it's as if a scene from the 2008 movie comes to life. Hagen, adorned in an elegant white and gold ensemble, effortlessly channels the spirit of the retro era, her hair styled in a sophisticated updo reminiscent of vintage glamour. With confidence, she struts across the stage, bringing the song to life.
But Hagen's performance was not a solo act. She was joined by two backup dancers, Laura Cloward and Julie Kennedy, who complemented her with their golden shimmery jumpsuits and white vests. The trio recreated a memorable scene from 'Mamma Mia!' where Amanda Seyfried's character, Sophie, is taken by surprise as her mother, played by Meryl Streep, surprises her at the bachelorette party. Hagen flawlessly lip-synced and danced to the retro tune, incorporating the familiar choreography from the film.

Cloward shared her astonishment, saying, "The dance was a complete surprise! I had no idea! My mom and I have always loved 'Mamma Mia' and ABBA. I never expected my mom to do something like this, as she usually shies away from the spotlight. It was incredibly special to see her up there, dancing with such passion. It meant the world to me." Overwhelmed with emotion, Cloward rushed onto the stage when her mom finished performing, embracing her tightly and expressing her gratitude for the amazing surprise. Cloward also recognized the dedication and effort that went into the show, as her mom had enlisted her best friend and sister-in-law, who rehearsed for weeks leading up to the wedding.
To make the performance truly authentic, the trio rented costumes from a local store in Orange County, specifically for the event. Hagen had also coordinated with a DJ prior to the wedding, meticulously planning the routine to astonish her daughter on her special day. The magic of ABBA's songs continued throughout the wedding, with Cloward making her entrance down the aisle to a piano rendition of "Dancing Queen," a song she had cherished since childhood. Adding to the surprise, her brothers transformed themselves into Harry and Lloyd from "Dumb and Dumber," delighting both Cloward and the party guests with their unexpected attire change.
Reflecting on the extraordinary evening, Cloward exclaimed, "It was an incredibly special night, and my family is absolutely amazing. Everything was perfect, and I will cherish this incredible memory forever!"
