Will Ian Somerhalder’s vampire pandemic drama see the light of day ever again? The show saw some level of success and follows Sommerhalder as Dr. Luther Swann, a scientist who “enters a world of untold horror when a mysterious disease transforms his best friend into a murderous predator who feeds on other humans. As the disease spreads and more people are transformed, society fractures into opposing camps pitting normal people against the growing number of these ‘vampires.’”
But with Netflix on an absolute canceling spree recently, can we expect more V-Wars? Let’s see.
Has V-Wars Been Renewed For Season 2?
We’ve got some unfortunate news. V-Wars will not be returning for a second season. Netflix has officially canceled the show. The show was expensive to make and did not bring in enough viewers for the cost. But was this the main reason for the show’s axing? Netflix, in general, has been tightening its belt recently, especially with its massive corporate debt load in the billions. Netflix is now only investing in titles with high viewership statistics and is cutting underperforming titles a lot quicker than it used to. So, a lot of your favorite shows may not get new seasons, which is definitely not ideal especially when shows end with cliffhangers. It’s not fair to users who have become attached and invested in the show’s plot and character. I guess that’s just how Netflix works these days and all we can do is hope that the other streamers like HBO Max, and Disney+ don’t follow the same business model.
