Ultraman will now be returning for a second season on Netflix as the announcement was made globally through different social media platforms. Now, fans just cannot keep calm.
Who doesn't know 'Ultraman'? It started off as a Japanese tokusatsu which means Japanese for live action. The incredible sci-fi series aired for the first time on the Tokyo Broadcasting Station (TBS) from July 17, 1966, to April 9, 1967. It was created by Eiji Tsuburaya as a follow-up to the series 'Ultra Q'. Soon the fever took over Japan and the character became a pop culture icon too. There was no way Netflix could have stepped back when it came to reviving the series and making it their very own, by setting it years after the events of the original show. Netflix's adaptation is based on the 'Ultraman' manga by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi.
In the Netflix Original series, Hayata is a member of the Science Patrol who becomes the ultimate Ultraman. A part of this group, Hayata was responsible for protecting the earth from aliens and monsters. After realizing that he is not capable of preventing the threat caused by the aliens and monsters, he turns himself into a giant alien to defend the earth, while keeping his real identity hidden from everyone else. The story is years after this event when Shinjiro Hayata discovered that his father was Ultraman and because of this, he takes up the responsibility to become the earth's protector. The kind of fever Ultraman franchise had on the Tokusatsu genre in Japan led to the birth of Power Rangers, Kamen Rider, and VR Troopers.
Yes, it's confirmed! Ultraman will now be returning for a second season on Netflix as the announcement was made globally through different social media platforms. Now, fans just cannot keep calm.

Needless to say that anime takes a long time to produce, therefore unless Production I.G has already begun working on another season, fans will have to wait for a long time for it to release. Therefore, we can expect the second season of Ultraman to come next year during spring.
For those who want to watch the first season, it is available in both Japanese with English subtitles and English dub. The first season has a total of 13 episodes, and Netflix officially describes ULTRAMAN as such: "Several years have passed since the events of Ultraman, with the legendary "Giant of Light" now a memory, as it is believed he returned home after fighting the many giant aliens that invaded the Earth. Shin Hayata's son Shinjiro seems to possess a strange ability, and it is this ability, along with his father's revelation that he was Ultraman, that leads Shinjiro to battle the new aliens invading the Earth as the new Ultraman."
Why? Honestly I don’t care at this point. I’m just glad we are getting more Tokusatsu related content in the west. Also Ultraman is a way better anime then most of the generic shonen and mainstream anime we have by funimation now.— the three stooges of the apocalypse (@Kenman_RiderW) June 11, 2019
Yes! Ultraman was excellent! Now I just need a second season of Kingdom!— Brian Frost (@CommanderFrost) June 11, 2019

Thank god you didn't stop with just season 1. Oh yeah also any chance we could see any other ultraman shows on Netflix too?— Jetfire48 (@ZZisgoodcowards) June 11, 2019
