Elodie, Moe, and Tabitha's story and friendship are set to continue on season 2. Can we expect more after?
Netflix's Trinkets was a tremendous hit, and just like any successful new release, fans have been asking for a follow-up season.
The teen drama series based on Kirsten Smith's novel of the same name follows the unlikely friendship between three girls that blossomed during a Shoplifters Anonymous meeting.
The first season ended with a mind-boggling cliffhanger, and fans are left with so many questions regarding the future of the series.
Here's what's next for Trinkets.
Good news! "Trinkets" has been officially confirmed for season 2.
Bad news, this will be the closing chapter for the series.
Netflix released the official announcement in July last year, just a month after the first season premiered. There is no official release date yet, but Netflix announced the series to arrive in 2020.
Trinkets' first season ended with a cliffhanger showing the girls in imminent trouble. While the finale left fans with a lot of questions, it also hinted possibilities for a second season. As predicted, season two received the green light, but the road ahead for Trinkets seems short after the streaming platform announced along with the teaser that season 2 will be the finale. Albeit, fans don't think two seasons are enough.
I'm gonna take it but we don't deserve only two seasons 😭— Yesi ❁ CHROMATICA CITIZEN (@MrsMistxke) July 29, 2019
This is some bullshit. This show is too damn good to only have 2 seasons smdhhhhh— lindsey (@lindsey90001) December 9, 2019
The first season aired on June 14, 2019, and fans were expecting for the second season to arrive around the same time. However, with the recent pandemic significantly affecting the movie and television industry, we are likely to expect more delays.
Judging by how the first season closed, it looks like season 2 will be more intense. Towards season one's finale, we saw Elodie running away from home after she was told she would be sent to a treatment facility in Seattle to treat her shoplifting habit. Moe, who never stole anything in her life (except during a dare game although we didn't see her taking stuff), finally shoplifted a bottle of Tequila. Tabitha stole Brady's car and ignored his warnings that he will report her to her parents and the police.
The teaser plighted that season 2 will give us all the answers. Will the girls ever be able to recover from their shoplifting addiction? Or will Moe end up adopting the behavior? Will they recover from the severed relationships with the people around them? Guess we'll have to wait till season 2 for the promised answers.
Most of the cast members for season 1 are expected to reprise their roles. We will see Brianna Hildebrand again as Elodie Davis together with the rest of the trio Kiana Madeira as Moe Truax, and Quintessa Swindell as Tabitha Foster.
Brandon Butler is also likely to return as Brady Finch. Odiseas Georgiadis will be back as Noah Simos. Larry Sullivan and Dana Green are also expected to be back as Elodie's father and step-mother, Doug and Jenna, respectively.
Unfortunately, Netflix has not released the official trailer yet as of this writing. This is understandable, considering we're not given an official release date for season 2 yet. For now, fans are left with no choice except to air out their wishes on the show's official social media.
