'Toradora!' is among those high-rated animes that unfortunately didn't get a second season despite the positive reception. The anime has an impressive 8.09/10 rating on MyAnimeList, from over 1.3 million votes. It ranks in #22 place in terms of popularity on the review site. 'Toradora' is based on a Japanese light novel series by Yuyuko Takemiya, with illustrations by Yasu. The 25-episode anime adaptation produced by J.C.Staff premiered in 2008. The anime arrived on Netflix in 2020, which made it even more popular. Now that the anime has received new attention from the anime community, can we expect season 2 to happen? Let us find out.
We are still waiting for 'Toradora!' to get renewed for season 2. The anime has gained a lot of attention since it arrived on Netflix. Sadly, we are still yet to hear about its renewal. Although it has been years since the anime was released, we are still not closing our doors for a possible sequel. Some anime take decades to get a sequel. So, as long as there is no official confirmation about its cancelation, there is always hope of its return. J.C.Staff, the production company behind the anime, has plenty of projects on its plate. Hopefully, 'Toradora' will be among its list of projects in development in the future. If you are a fan of 'Toradora' and you want to bring the anime back for season 2, the best thing you can do now is continue watching the anime on Netflix and talk about it on social media.
'Toradora!' premiered in Japan on October 2, 2008, and concluded on March 26, 2009. The anime arrived on Netflix on August 1, 2020. There is still no release date for season 2 of 'Toradora!' since the anime is not even renewed yet. It might take a few years before we see 'Toradora!' season 2. That is, if the anime will ever get renewed. We will update this space once we get more information.
'Toradora!' follows Ryūji and Taiga, two people who started on the wrong foot but eventually fell in love with each other. The two often get into arguments. After their first incidental encounter, they strike a deal to help the other get together with their friends. As the season goes further, Ryūji and Taiga's feelings for each other grow deeper. If 'Toradora' will return for season 2, we expect a time jump and to see Ryūji and Taiga in their final high school years. The second season could also follow them as they move forward to university. Whatever the timeline will be, we expect to see a continuation of their relationship as both of them grows more mature with age. These are still predictions for now. Hopefully, the second season of the anime will get renewed in the future so we can catch up with our favorite couple.
Junji Majima and Rie Kugimiya lead the Japanese voice cast list as Ryuji Takasu and Taiga Aisaka, respectively. Erik Scott and Cassandra Lee Morris voice the characters in the English dub version. We expect them to return, assuming that season 2 will get the green light and continue focusing on their love story.
