Tobey Maguire And Andrew Garfield To Play Leading Roles In Spider-Man: No Way Home?

Marvel insider, Daniel Richtman, has revealed that Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire will play more than just lengthy cameos in the upcoming Spider-man film.

Spider-man: No Way Home

Over the past year or two, many rumors circulated regarding Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's involvement in Spider-man: No Way Home. None has yet to be confirmed. However, a recent leak by Twitter's resident Marvel insider Daniel Richtman may have strengthened these rumors.

Richtman, who has quite a good track record, revealed on Twitter that both Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield will be reprising their Spider-man roles in the upcoming Spider-man film. He also revealed that they will be in co-leading roles.

Willem Dafoe is reportedly returning to play Green Goblin and will assemble the Sinister Six from different universes. This will not only attract the attention of Doctor Strange but also Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's versions of Spider-man. And according to Richtman, Maguire and Garfield will play more than just lengthy cameos in the film.

There is also evidence to back up Richtman's claims. Both Maguire and Garfield were spotted near the Spider-man: No Way Home set in Atlanta. It was believed that they were there for a costume fitting.

More evidence is the fact that Alfred Molina, J.K. Simmons, and Jamie Foxx are all reprising their roles from their respective Spider-man films so it only makes sense for the Spider-men of their universes to also reprise their roles.

Tom Holland had recently praised the film, calling it the most ambitious stand-alone superhero flick. He said:

I can say that it's the most ambitious standalone superhero movie ever made. You sit down, read the script, and see what they're trying to do, and they're succeeding. It's really impressive. I've never seen a standalone superhero movie quite like it... I'm just as excited as everyone else to see it, let alone be a part of it.

Holland had also seemingly debunked the rumors when he said that Maguire and Garfield will not be in the film. But from many previous interviews, we know for a fact that Holland isn't the best source of information.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is expected to hit theaters on December 17th, 2021.
