One person took it to Social media to point out the stark similarities between the Shrek franchise and the HBO's hit series Game Of Thrones.
The fans of the popular series 'Game of Thrones' recently have had their mind blown with the similarity that the series has with the Shrek franchise. A Twitter user with the name of @ohmytargaryen took it to the social media platform yesterday in order to show how similar the character of the 'Game of Thrones' series is with that of 'Shrek'. He compared various characters and scenes from the TV show with that of the Shrek cartoon film series.

The Twitter user shared a number of images from both the shows and captioned his post, writing, "so basically Game of Thrones is a Shrek live action," as he pointed out the similarities between costume design, character portrayal, and even cinematography. Lord Farquaad and Princess Fiona from 'Shrek' was compared to Game of Thrones' characters Tyrion Lannister and Sansa Stark. His images showed how the characters have a similar facial expression, how similar was the sense of clothing, and how similar they look in general.
Both Tyrion and Lord Farquaad are dwarves and much to the amazement of the people, they shared a similar taste in clothing, where they were seen wearing iron armor. Both of them had very similar looking blonde locks that were parted from the middle and falling around their faces. Another photo compared Cersei and Jamie Lannister being compared to Fairy Godmother and Prince Charming from Shrek. The character of Fairy Godmother can be seen wearing a shiny headpiece and in the picture the user shared, Cersei was seen wearing her hair styled in braids and styling her hair by wearing a tiara.
Prince Charming was seen wearing a shirt that had a high collar and has his hair styled in loose waves and a middle parting. Jaime Lannister from Game of Thrones looked very similar to Prince Charming in this particular photo. His next image compared Sandor 'The Hound' Clegane with that of Sherk himself. Both the characters were seen wearing almost identical outfits. In another tweet, the user compared a dragon from Shrek with Drogon from 'Game of Thrones'.
The tweet has gained a lot of attention since it was published. It managed to accumulate over 140,000 likes and almost 50,000 retweets from fans of the show. Along with it, hundreds of comments were also made by the fans that basically said how similar the similarities are. In one comment, a Twitter user shared a picture of Shrek as a human with that of Podrick Payne from Game of Thrones. Now that we have seen this image, we cannot unsee it.

Another user shared an image where Arya Stark was compared to Shrek's Puss in Boots in a certain scene. But this is not the first time the fans have realized that the two franchises have odd similarities. Back in 2017, one Twitter user pointed out a certain scene in the show that was almost identical to one in the first Shrek movie. The scene in question was from Season 7 episode 5 where Jon Snow meets Drogon for the first time, up close and personal. This scene was compared to the scene from Shrek, where Donkey met his future-wife, Dragon. When put side by side, the scenes look eerily similar with Jon Snow's expression perfectly mimicking Donkey's and the two dragons reacting the exact same way.
