One thing we know for sure is the fact that the Pearson family tree is only going to get more complex, therefore, fans will have to pay more attention.
'This Is Us' is an American comedy-drama television series that has become everyone's favorite. Fans have been a part of the story and its tragic elements since September 20, 2016, and there is no doubt about the fact that its storyline is really good. It is a show that follows the lives and families of two parents. and their three children, in several different time frames. Because of the love and fondness, the series was a big success which is why fans have enjoyed three seasons of 'This Is Us' so far, and they are impatient for the fourth one. Here's what we know about season 4 so far.
The end of season 3 left fans with many questions which they hope will get answered in season 4. Questions like, "Why was Nicky in that last scene of the finale?", and "How soon can we see the fourth season on screen?" and so on and so forth. The last episode of season 3 went back to the future to resolve a number of lingering mysteries about the Pearson clan. The episode-ending flash forwards has raised some very important question, out of which the biggest one is in the final scene when it was strongly suggested that Jack's estranged brother Nicky replaced Miguel as octogenarian Rebecca's primary companion/caregiver.
If we want to have an idea about when the fourth season will come, then from past seasons we can expect the release date to be sometime during the fall. Even though NBC has not given out any official date for the new season, the first episode will most probably start with The Big Three's birthday (just as it has in prior seasons). The season 4 will mostly come back in September 2019 on NBC.

Fans who don't like to watch series in real-time, Hulu subscribers can tune in at Hulu.com, just like it happened with the first three seasons. The streaming service offers a free trial or starter pack of $5.99 a month for a one-year subscription with limited or no commercials.
Apparently, the fourth season of 'This Is Us' will be the third to last season of the series. The show was renewed in May 2019 for three more 18-episode seasons. According to Isaac Aptaker, during season 3, the series finale had already been written and fans would stop hearing from the Pearsons in "about three seasons". The three-season renewal falls under the line with show creator Dan Fogelman's ultimate plan. Dan told Entertainment Weekly that for the fourth season he is focusing on playing with the concept of time in a really "ambitious and sprawling" way.
"Many of our characters are in the middle of their stories, and that's a point where characters are opening up to new things and new things are starting," Dan spilled. "That becomes a very exciting period for almost all of the characters, and for some of them, maybe a very scary period in terms of how fraught their storylines are." He continued, "It's going to feel in some ways almost like a version of season one in the middle of our series."
Dan also told Hollywood Reporter that the flashbacks will be a very important role in the fourth season. "Next season is a very past-heavy season. We're going to play in time in a surprising way as we move forward into the next seasons of the show," Dan said. "At a certain point, our present becomes our past. That sounds really confusing, but it does in the show at some point."

Also, fans will be seeing a lot of Rebecca in season 4. Mandy Moore, who plays Rebecca in 'This Is Us' told People, "I think it’s a big pull. I think in other aspects of her life especially immediately post-Jack, the kids have just graduated from high school and potentially going off to college. It’s a big lonely road that she is sort of staring down the barrel of, but she always comes out on top."
It is believed that fans will only see the cast getting bigger in season 4. The creator of the show, Dan Fogelman said, "The show is intended to be the expansive ways our lives evolve and connect us with our people … That starts happening more and more.” We cannot really say who all will be there in the series, but one thing we know for sure is the fact that the Pearson family tree is only going to get more complex, therefore, fans will have to pay more attention.
