Get your calendars ready because Netflix is keeping our entire year busy with awesome new content coming.
One of the things to look out for is the upcoming Netflix Original horror-thriller 'Things Heard & Seen' starring Amanda Seyfried and James Norton.
The film is directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini and is based on the novel 'All Things Cease to Appear' by author Elizabeth Brundage.
It was adapted to screenplay by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini.
The film is coming to the streaming giant a few weeks from now, so let's go right into all the details you need to know about ‘Things Heard and Seen.’
'Things Heard & Seen' is currently scheduled for a global release on Netflix on Friday, April 30th, 2021.
Production for the film started in October 2019, in Hudson Valley, New York.
'Things Heard & Seen' follows an artist (Amanda Seyfried) who moves to Hudson Valley with her husband. Upon settling, she gets a foreboding feeling that both her new home and her husband are hiding some dark and possibly sinister secrets. Seyfried tries to search through the history of their new home to uncover its mysteries, but her husband is convincing the people in the area to withhold information from her wife, insinuating that she tends to believe the supernatural.
As Seyfried continues with her investigation, her husband becomes more difficult and disturbing.
In terms of how faithful the film is to the source material, Berman explained to EW:
“The movie is set in 1980. So I think we set it pretty close to when it was set [in the book], like '79 into '80. We definitely kept that. In the book, there are three brothers, and we made two brothers. It was not enough time to really develop the characters of three individual brothers.”
Here's the official synopsis from Netflix:
"A Manhattan couple moves to a historic hamlet in the Hudson Valley and come to discover that their marriage has a sinister darkness, one that rivals their new home’s history. Based on the acclaimed novel by Elizabeth Brundage."
