The Witcher Season 3

Missing all the monsters, warlocks, and witches? Well, Netflix brought some good news to the table when they announced that The Witcher will be released in the summer of 2023 during their global fan event TUDUM in September, earlier this year. So gear up to head right back to The Continent. The Netflix fantasy series set in the medieval land called the continent is based on the fantasy book series by Andrzej Sapkowski whose brainchild also inspired the very popular game series by the same name. Also, The Witcher season 3 is officially the last time we'll see Henry Cavil suit up as Geralt as Liam Hemsworth will be taking over as Geralt from season 4. But that's a story for another day, today let's find out everything we know so far about the upcoming season.

When Will The Witcher Season 3 Be Released?

The fans were expecting the new season of The Witcher to drop sometime this fall or by the holiday season. However, at the global fan event, Netflix confirmed that Season 3 will premiere in the summer of 2023. We don't have a narrower window to work from, but the announcement hints toward a June to August release.

Filming is reportedly wrapped for the season, and with that, the series has now entered the post-production stage. We should be able to see get a release date bundled up with a trailer next year.

What To Expect From The Witcher 3?

While we haven't seen a trailer yet, Netflix released an official plot summary:

"As monarchs, mages, and beasts of the Continent compete to capture her, Geralt takes Ciri of Cintra into hiding, determined to protect his newly reunited family against those who threaten to destroy it. Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where she hopes to discover more about the girl’s untapped powers; instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic, and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line—or risk losing each other forever."
