'The White Lotus' Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Series creator, writer, and director, Mike White has always expressed that he'd like to continue his series, The White Lotus beyond its first season and it looks like that's exactly what is happening. HBO's The White Lotus has been renewed for season 2 by HBO. Fans will remember that the first season featured six episodes and followed visitors vacationing at the White Lotus, an exclusive Hawaiian resort. The comedy-drama showcased the parallels between arrogant rich guests and the local service staff trying to make ends meet. The second season is expected to follow a different group of guests. 

What Is The Plot Of The White Lotus Season 2?

"I would do another season because I feel like there's a way to get at some new themes and do it in a way that feels fresh from this one," White told EW. The show will not take place in Hawaii. "We would go somewhere different because there's no way we could be able to afford the Four Seasons in Maui, not in a pandemic," White said. "So yeah, it would have to be The White Lotus: Kyoto or something. Which would be fun too, because we could get into culture clash ideas and stuff like that."

Who Is Cast In The White Lotus Season 2?

The Sopranos star Michael Imperioli is on board for the next season and will play Dominic Di Grasso, a man traveling with his elderly father and recent college-graduate son. Parks & Recreation and Legion alumna Aubrey Plaza will be a series regular and play Harper Spiller, a woman on vacation with her husband and his friends.

There is no confirmation as to any cast members from season 1 returning although standout, Jennifer Coolidge, has been rumored to be coming back to the show. White mentioned that he wanted a couple of the characters from Season 1. According to TV Line, White explained, "I don’t think you can credibly have [all the Season 1 guests] on the same vacation again.” He added, “But maybe it could be a Marvel Universe type thing, where some of them would come back. We only made one-year deals with the actors, so we’d have to find out who is even available.”

Season 1 featured Murray Bartlett (Looking), Connie Britton (Nashville), Jennifer Coolidge (2 Broke Girls), Alexandra Daddario (True Detective), Fred Hechinger (Eighth Grade), Jake Lacy (Girls), Brittany O’Grady (Little Voice), Natasha Rothwell (Insecure), Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria), and Steve Zahn (Treme).

When Will The White Lotus Season 2 Release?

As of now, there are no additional details about the second season of the show. The White Lotus season 2 currently does not yet have a set premiere date.
