The Way of the Househusband is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kousuke Oono. It is now an anime series on Netflix that first premiered on April 8, 2021. The show follows a feared yakuza boss named Tatsu who retires from crime to become a househusband. The former yakuza legend once dubbed “The Immortal Dragon” is now focussing on a more domesticated life but one that is often disturbed by the continuous interference of his old acquaintances.
An interesting thing to note about the show is The Way of The Househusband's motionless style of animation which has confused some fans. CBR reports that according to an interview with director Kon Chiaki, the request from the anime producer was to “make an anime that's exactly like a manga…it never moves.” Fans however love Tsuda Kenjiro’s kansai dialect and feel that the dramatic yakuza speak perfectly embodies Tatsu.
According to The Cinemaholic, the third season will also have a bunch of gags. Tatsu will keep indulging in mundane activities but he will have an unexpected encounter with his neighbor, and he may end up getting to know him better. Also, there might be some traveling involved. Miku will win a paid vacation from her company and head to Bremen Farm with Tatsu. The two may go for a picnic and explore the rest of the nearby region.
Kenjiro Tsuda has voiced the lead character of the retired gangster, Yakuza Tatsu, and will reprise his role if there is a third season. Shikuza Ito, who voices Tatsu's wife Miku's character in the series will also come back for the role. Also likely to return are Yoshimasa Hosaya who plays the voice of Torajirou and Atsuko Tanaka who plays the voice of Torii Hibari.

The show's second season was released on Netflix on October 7, 2021. The second installment comprises five episodes with a runtime of 17-19 minutes each. Although Netflix hasn't confirmed the third season just yet, if it's greenlit we can expect The Way of the Househusband season 3 to release sometime in 2024.
