“Come back to my village and I’ll train you,” Selena said before leaping up through the hole.
I was about to go but before I did I heard the man say, “Wait!! Take us with you.”
“You’ll just slow us down,” I said.
“We have plenty food that could help allyuh on allyuh journey,” the man said. “We could help you get to her village. We just need a safe place to stay.”
I thought about it. I really did. If I was back in Arima I would have accepted them in a heartbeat but things changed.
“We don’t need help,” I said then I leaped up. I didn’t jump up through the hole but I created a new one with my head. “Ouch!!!” I shouted, rubbing my head. I was strong enough to burst through the floor but not enough to withstand the pain that came with it.
“You are one hundred times stronger than you were before but you still feel pain. So always take that into consideration when performing unhuman-like feats.”
The force could have shattered my skull and it felt shattered but it wasn’t.
“Thanks for the advice,” I said, rubbing my head still.
“The time of midnight is near. We must get to my village.”
“Lead the way.”
She jumped on my back then said, “I will guide you.”
I tightened my grip on her then ran off.

To Jeremy Duncan, The Midnight Robber only chooses death if it is warranted. A murderer, rapist, a greedy capitalist, never an innocent soul. Never children. The Midnight Robber is darkness and is afraid of the light. The Midnight Robber can toy and play and lie and cheat, but cannot kill someone who is truly good and honest. But you can when you’re not the Midnight Robber and so can Jeremy Duncan. So in some way, Jeremy Duncan is more dangerous than the Midnight Robber.” Selena said while glued to my back.
“You know plenty for just a teenager.” I said.
“I am at the age of reasoning.”
“How come you know so much?”
“My mother taught me a lot. She taught me how to control the spirit of the Fairymaid inside me.”
“Spirit is a strong word.”
“Denying the truth does not make it any less true. These things are more than just physical symbiotic relationships. The symbiote goes deeper than just physical. These things may be difficult for a human to grasp but now that you are one of us you can comprehend it. You can feel it in your soul.”
