“The time of midnight is near, the time that every mortal must fear,” the Pierrot Grenade said. “The time when the Midnight Robber awakes from his slumber and goes out. Goes out to plunder.”
The Midnight Robber looked at his watch then said, “oh my!! Look at the time. The Midnight Robber have a meeting with the First Lady tonight at 12. He hates being late. I have to go now.”
“Don’t kill her please,” Megan said.
“That is not my call,” the Midnight Robber said. “Anyway, I can’t talk again. I need to leave now. Pierrot, take these children to their…… Room.”
“With pleasure!” The Pierrot Grenade said.
“But I still have questions,” I said.
“I would assume so, but the less you know the less nightmares you’ll have tonight,” the Midnight Robber said as he walked away. He then walked through a wall and was gone. As he left, I felt a heavy tension enter the room. The place got completely quiet and everyone in the room stopped what they were doing and stared over at Megan and I. It wa quite unnerving. The Pierrot Grenade who was leading us seemed kind of shady herself because she kept looking back at us with a mischievous smile.
We safely made it out of the library area and we followed the Pierrot Grenade to where ever she was leading us. The place got darker and much grimmer as we walked. The Pierrot Grenade then stopped in front of an old jail cell and said, “beyond here lies your room.”
“This is a jail cell,” I said.
As I spoke three Blue Devils came out of nowhere took away our weapons and poked us with their pitchforks until we entered the jail cell. The Pierrot Grenade then locked the cell and said, “enjoy your life in here because this is it now.”
“Wait, what?” I asked.
“This is your life now. Here in this prison,” the Pierrot Grenade said before she walked away. We tried to call her back but she just ignored us.
“So we’re going to rot in jail now? They should have just killed us. The Midnight Robber never kills unjustly my ass!!! Putting us in here is killing us!” Megan said as she threw herself on the cell floor. As she sat she instantly jumped back up as a rat crawled out from nowhere and out through the bars of the cell. She let out a small yelp.
“If we were small like rats we could have fit through those bars and escape,” I joked.
Megan just sighed and sat back down on the ground.
