The Nickelodeon film will be out this year, according to writer Kevin Sullivan.
The Loud House, the Nickelodeon animated series is getting a Netflix movie release! The Loud House Movie is reportedly releasing on the streaming service this year. According to Netflix, "the biggest family on television goes on the biggest Loud family vacation ever! The adventure follows the Loud family to Scotland where they discover that they are descendants of Scottish royalty."
According to What's On Netflix, the film was initially set to release sometime in 2020 but was eventually pushed to 2021. In a Fandom post (h/t NickAlive!), a user by the name of Jaiden VonFlatern posted a private exchange with Kevin Sullivan who states that Netflix will air it in April but mentioned that with “hopefully”.
In The Loud House Movie, the Loud family is going on their biggest vacation ever to Scotland. We can't wait to see what they do when they find out about their royal heritage. Kevin Sullivan, the brains behind the screenplay had completed the “Writer’s first draft” for the movie and on a social media post, Sullivan previously mentioned: Now that the first draft is done, I think I can announce (without jinxing myself) that for the last few months I’ve had the privilege of writing The Loud House Movie for Nickelodeon and Netflix. I really hope I haven’t jinxed myself because I’m excited to dive into the next draft and keep pushing this hilarious, heartwarming, and crazy story forward.
Executive Producer Mike Rubiner spoke with Animation World Network, last year saying, "We’ve been working on an animated feature-length movie for Netflix. And we’re also working on a live-action The Loud House movie. I’m super excited about both of those projects. It’s a really fun challenge to tell bigger, longer, more epic stories about this family we’ve all grown to love." As to what makes the TV series stand out from the rest, he shared, "We try to ground the show in the real lives of kids as much as possible. We try to tell stories that kids can relate to and see themselves in. And in addition to trying to make kids laugh, we also hope that in some small way we can give them positive messages about family and love and growing up…without hitting them over the head with it, hopefully."
