The final season 2 episode released a few days ago, when is season 3 coming?
The King's Avatar (Quánzhí Gāoshǒu) is among the much-anticipated anime releases this year.
The anime series depicts a fictional esports scene in China and follows Ye Xiu, a professional esports player considered to be the best player of the video game Glory.
He was forced to resign from his team (Excellent Era) despite his professional track record.
But the odds are on Ye Xiu's side, and soon enough, he finds himself back to the Glory championship after building a new character from scratch.
The King's Avatar has just finished airing its last season 2 episode a few days ago, but the anime fans are already asking if season 3 is going to happen.
Here's everything we know so far.
There is still no official season 3 renewal announcement as of this writing, but it's normal since season 2 finished just a couple of days ago.
The long-awaited season 2 finally dropped on Tencent's official youtube channel on September 27, 2020, and ran through December 13, 2020.
Each episode has hundreds of thousands of views, while others even reached the million mark.
Unfortunately, the last few episodes had a noticeable decline in views, and we are not sure if this will impact season 3's production.
Nevertheless, there have been online rumors that the work for season 3 has already begun.
We are still waiting for Tencent's official season 3 announcement to verify this information.
There are still no official season 3 announcements for the anime series as of this writing.
Season 1 premiered in 2017, followed by the OVA that was released n 2018, then finally season 2 dropped in 2020.
Based on the gap between the past schedules, we are likely to see season 3 in about 2 years (2022).
If the production for season 3 has indeed started, then there's also a chance for the third season to arrive earlier, let's say late 2021.

We are expecting the characters from Team Happy to return for season 3.
They are Ye Xiu (formerly from Team Excellent Era, also known as Lord Grim), Tang Rou (Soft Mist), Mo Fan (Deception), An Wenyi (Little Cold Hands), Qiao Yifan (One Inch Ash), and Wei Chen (Warlock).
Su Mucheng (Dancing Rain) will be joining Team Happy for Season 10 Championship, so we are expecting to see her character again for the next season.

The King's Avatar is based on the light novel of the same name written by Hu Dielan.
In season 2, Team Happy, led by Ye Xiu, finally managed to enter Glory Professional Alliance in Season 10, which means that they are about to face the biggest battle of their lives.
Assuming the anime gets a third season, we are expecting to see a continuation of Team Happy's competitive journey in the fictional Esports arena.
Whether they will win the championship trophy or not, we will have to wait for season 3 to find out.
Season 3 is not confirmed yet as of this writing, so there is still no official trailer available.
