Pete Davidson is most well-known for his skits on Saturday Night Live. He has had movie and TV roles here and there but never really a starring role in anything significant. Now we have the Judd Apatow and Pete Davidson team-up of the century in "The King of Staten Island". Here's what we know about the film so far.
The film follows Scott, who has become quite a mess after his firefighter father died when he was seven.
When his sister goes off to college, Scott is left with his mother and he spends most of his time smoking weed and hanging with friends.
However, when his mom gets a new boyfriend who is a firefighter like his dad, it triggers conflicting emotions in Scott and causes him to come to grips with his grief and start to move forward in life.
The main cast includes Pete Davidson as Scott Ready, Marisa Tomei as Marjorie Ready, Bill Burr as Ray, Bel Powley as Kelsey, Maude Apatow as Nell Ready, Steve Buscemi as Papa, Pamela Adlon as Gina, Ricky Velez as Oscar, Moises Arias as Igor, and Lou Wilson as Richie.
It was announced on April 27th that the film will be going straight On-Demand, June 12th, 2020.
It was first set to premiere at South by Southwest on March 13. But, that was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was then rescheduled to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 20, 2020. That was also canceled.
