Buck, the one-eyed weasel who helps the gang in their quest and left quite an impression is back with his own movie.
The Ice Age film franchise has been much loved by the audience. It follows the adventures of the animals of the Earth's Ice Age including a ground sloth, a wooly mammoth, and a saber-tooth tiger who were voiced by John Leguizamo, Ray Romano, and Denis Leary respectively. There have been five films in the series so far, over the course of over a decade.
We met more interesting and lovable characters in the other films including Scrat the saber-toothed squirrel and his misfortune with nuts, and Ellie, the last female mammoth who thinks she is a possum because of her adopted possum brothers, Crash and Eddie. In the third installment, we met Buck, a one-eyed weasel who helps the gang in their quest. The weasel left quite an impression and is now getting his own movie: The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild. Here's everything you need to know about the film.
We met Buck Wild, short for Buckminster, when he helped save Manny, Crash, Eddie, Diego, and Ellie from a dinosaur attack. He lived his life as a dinosaur hunter. His archenemy was Rudy, who he claimed was responsible for injuring his eye. In the film, he manages to finally get Rudy who seems to fall to death. Or that's what he thinks and having lost his purpose in life, decides to join the gang. He then hears a distant familiar roar and assuming it's from Rudy, goes back into the wild.
In the film centered around him, we will meet the possum brothers Crash and Eddie again. They set out to find a place of their own, only to find themselves trapped in the Lost World. But they are rescued by Buck, and together embark on a mission to save the Lost World from dinosaur domination.
The film will see Simon Pegg reprising his voice acting role for Buck. Vincent Tong and Utkarsh Ambudkar will be voicing Crash and Eddie respectively, and will also be joined by Aaron Harris in the film. We will also be seeing Manny, Diego, Sid, and Ellie.
The Ice Age Adventures of Buck Wild was first developed by Blue Sky Studios with the intention of making it a television series. Disney acquired Blue Sky Studios' parent company 20th Century Fox, after which the project was repurposed to become a movie, and the same was confirmed in December 2020, as per Looper.
The film will be arriving exclusively on Disney+ on January 28, 2022. It will not be receiving a theatrical release like the rest of the Ice Age films. The film will probably not be on VOD anywhere else either.
