The Hookup Plan season 2 wrapped up the six episodes with a satisfying ending. Does that mean they all lived happily ever after or will the French friends come back for more?
Netflix has remained true to its vision of providing diverse, world-class entertainment to its subscribers.
The streaming platform has been acquiring a lot of shows in different languages, and the French comedy-drama series, The Hookup Plan, is just part of its growing list of international Netflix Originals.
The Hookup Plan ravels through the complexity of modern love and friendship. The show's season 2 premiered last year, and we only have one question. Will it manage to dodge Netflix's infamous axing of series after the second season? Let's find out.
Unfortunately, as of this writing, Netflix has still not renewed the French show for season 3. This might be a bad sign considering it has been months since season 2 premiered on the streaming platform. Season 2 aired on October 11, 2019, and there has been no buzz around the show's third season on social media anymore. Don't worry because Netflix didn't announce its axing of the show either. For now, let's continue to cling unto that little glimmer of hope.
Hey Omar, hope you're doing well! At this time, we don't have any information if/when there will be a season 3 of The Hookup Plan. Keep an eye on our Social Media accounts (which you can find linked here: https://t.co/BUprijVwen ) For the latest content announcements! *TW— Netflix CS (@Netflixhelps) October 14, 2019
With the renewal still pending, there's no way of telling. But if we take a look at the previous release dates, there's a possibility that the show will arrive by the last quarter of the year. Season 1 released on December 7, 2018, while season 2 premiered on October 11, 2019. But even if it is renewed, the coronavirus pandemic will cause some significant delays that can push the release into 2021.
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but we're expecting to see the three main cast to return should the show be renewed for season 3.
This include Zita Hanrot as Elsa, Sabrina Ouazani as Charlotte, and Joséphine Draï as Emilie.
Other cast members include Syrus Shahidi as Antoine, Marc Ruchmann as Jules, Guillaume Labbé as Maxime and Tom Dingler as Matthieu.
Warning: Spoilers ahead.
The Hookup Plan's premise is simple: it's about two women who try their best to help their loveless friend find love-- or at least someone to accompany her during lonely nights, no strings attached. In the first season, Charlotte and Emilie hired male escort Julio (Marc Ruchmann) to take Elsa on a few dates. This didn't end up well as the two's supposedly casual dating relationship went a little deeper. In Season 2, the still loveless Elsa returns to France after four months in Buenos Aires. She soon finds herself in deep trouble, and her friends commissioned Max (Guillaume Labbé) for help.
Season two's last episode, interestingly titled "The Love Plan," shows Elsa snatching the microphone during Antoine and Emilie's wedding reception after hearing the song Julio composed for her. She left an emotional speech and convinced Julio to give their relationship a second chance. The two sealed it with a kiss, and the celebration continued.
If the show is ever renewed for season 3, the plot will likely revolve around Elsa and Julio's renewed relationship and the girls' unyielding support for each other. Charlotte also caught the bouquet during Emilie's wedding, so we're expecting to see her march down the aisle next.
Season 3 trailer is still not available, and it's likely it to take awhile considering the show has not been renewed yet. In the meantime, enjoy The Hookup Plan's season 2 trailer to refresh your memories of the show.
