The Four Seasons Season 2: Everything We Know So Far

Netflix’s new dramedy The Four Seasons is a humorous and unexpectedly touching look at long-term friendships and issues in marriage. Inspired by Alan Alda’s 1981 film of the same name, the series by Tina Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield follows three middle-aged married couples as they go on four vacations together throughout the year, with each trip set in a different season. In the last season, “Winter,” the close-knit group of friends deals with a heartbreaking event that alters their relationships more than any divorce could.

Now that all eight episodes of the comedy series are available, fans are curious if there will be more episodes featuring Kate (Fey), Jack (Will Forte), Danny (Colman Domingo), Claude (Marco Calvani), and the rest of the charming cast. Here’s everything we know.

Is ‘The Four Seasons’ Returning With Season 2?

Yes! In May 2025, during Netflix’s presentation for advertisers, just two weeks after The Four Seasons started streaming, it was announced that season 2 was confirmed.

Showrunners Fey, Lang Fisher, and Tracey Wigfield released a joint statement, according to The Hollywood Reporter. “We are so grateful that audiences worldwide share our love of cozy sweaters, drinks by the ocean, and picking fights in a hot tub,” they said. “See you on our next vacation together!”

The renewal happened after the co-creators hinted to the press that they wanted to keep The Four Seasons going. While the three of them spoke with Variety in an interview shared just one day after the show hit streaming, Fey coyly said, “We’re going to start talking next week, the three of us. We’ll see.”

In a separate interview with TV Insider, the SNL alum added, “I feel like we sort of don’t dare to dream yet, but we did. Who knows. If we were lucky enough to do more of these, we’d certainly all like to hang out again.”

Luckily, she was right, and the comedy followed the trend of other recent shows that got renewed quickly, such as Nobody Wants This and Running Point.

When Will The Four Seasons Season 2 Be Released?

The Four Seasons might come back soon. Unlike some of Netflix’s shows that rely heavily on visual effects (like Stranger Things), The Four Seasons came to the streaming service relatively quick after being filmed in the fall of 2024. Depending on scheduling (which might be complicated due to its busy cast), new episodes could come out as early as 2026.

Who From The ‘Four Seasons’ Cast Will Return For Season 2?

Most of the main cast of Four Seasons is expected to come back for season 2. This includes Tina Fey (Kate), Will Forte (Jack), Colman Domingo (Danny), Marco Calvani (Claude), Kerri Kenney-Silver (Anne), and Erika Henningsen (Ginny). After his character’s sad death, Steve Carell (Nick) is not likely to return to his role, unless the show has some flashbacks.

We also hope that Julia Lester will come back as Lila, so she can present her new play about welcoming a half-brother.

What Could Happen In The Four Seasons Season 2?

It’s difficult to predict the story of the second season of a character-focused show like The Four Seasons. In an interview with TVLine, co-showrunner Fisher nicely outlined what to expect for a second season at this time.

She said, “We do know that we would bring the core cast back. It wouldn’t be, like, an anthology. We would keep our group because I think that’s what makes the show so great, this particular group. You’d know there would be four trips [and] still the same four seasons.”

The co-showrunners suggested to Variety that Ginny’s pregnancy will play an important role in the new season. She and Anne have created a connection that ties them together through Nick and Lila. Besides the suspenseful ending, problems in relationships might impact the other couples.

“I think the heart of our show is this group of friends, and obviously there will be a little bit of a change in that,” Wigfield told the outlet. “There’s no Nick, and Ginny’s pulled in whatever way that she is. But I think I’m looking forward to the opportunity to look at these couples and what we had them go through in the first season, and think about in relationships that are so long, what is the next thing that you’re going through? And what are more things that kind of can throw your relationship for a loop in bad and good ways?”
