Will Louise and Saito's love story continue to season 5?
'The Familiar of Zero' (Zero no Tsukaima) remains to be one of the most popular animated series on Crunchyroll, even after years have passed since the fourth season was released.
The anime is based on the light novel series written by Noboru Yamaguchi, with illustrations by Eiji Usatsuka.
It follows the unlikely love story and adventures of a terrible magician and his human partner.
Fans of 'The Familiar of Zero' continue to ask if the anime will still return for season 5. Is it happening? Let's find out.
Sadly, a fifth season of 'The Familiar of Zero' now seems unlikely to happen. The author of the Light Novel series on which the show is based passed away before he finished the story. A new author picked up the light novel series following Yamaguchi's death and published two more volumes, which concluded the story. The new author used the notes left behind by Yamaguchi as a reference.
'The Familiar of Zero' season 1 premiered on July 3, 2006, and ended on September 25, 2006, after 13 episodes.
The second season called ‘Zero no Tsukaima: Knight of the Twin Moons’, came out in July 2007 and ran until September 24, 2007.
Season 3 titled ‘Zero no Tsukaima: Princess no Rondo’ premiered on July 7, 2008, and aired until September 22, 2008.
The fourth season called ‘Zero no Tsukaima F’ was released on January 7, 2012, and finished airing on March 24, 2012. The fourth season serves as the conclusion for the anime. There's always a way for the anime to return for season 5. However, J.C.Staff, the studio which produced the previous four seasons, has not announced any interest in picking up the anime so far.
As mentioned, it is unlikely now for season 5 to ever happen. There is no official renewal, and perhaps, there won't be any in the future.
However, if by any chance that the anime gets renewed, we will update this space immediately.
The anime follows Louise Francoise Le Blanc de La Valliere, a terrible magician in a world full of spells and charms.
Whenever she tries to cast a spell, something terrible goes wrong and it often leads to explosions. Because of her disastrous attempts, her classmates dubbed her “Louise the Zero”.
One day, the students of Tristain Academy of Magic got tasked to summon their familiar. A familiar will serve as their eternal companion, protector, and partner. They are usually some sort of magical creature. However, instead of summoning some majestic and powerful creature, Louise beckoned a normal boy named Saito Hiraga.
Her failure once again upset Louise. She tried to treat Saito as a slave and was very mean to him. However, the more time she spent with Saito, the more she realizes she is catching feelings for him.
The anime follows their adventure as Louise tries to prove her magical potential with Saito on her side.
Saito is a normal boy from Tokyo who gets sucked by a portal that transported him into Louise's magical world. Saito often gets caught in compromising situations with other women, which leads him to get branded as somewhat perverted. However, when it comes to Louise, Saito becomes protective. He genuinely cares for Louise and even gets jealous of other guys.
Louise is the third daughter of the Valliere Family- a noble family in the magic world. She is ostracized by everyone, including her own family, because of her awful magic skills.
When she first meets Saito, she treats him like a slave, partly due to her disappointment of summoning a normal human instead of a magical creature. However, as the series progresses, the two find themselves falling for each other.
