Shudder has officially renewed The Creep Tapes for Season 2. Premiering in November 2024, the series gives fans a closer look at the twisted thoughts of the serial killer made famous by creators Patrick Brice and Mark Duplass, after their successful 2014 film Creep and its 2017 sequel.
According to Deadline, Shudder has officially renewed the found footage series for a second season, which will again be produced by Brice and Duplass. Although the show hasn’t become very popular with the general public, The Creep Tapes was extremely successful within the horror community. It launched as the most viewed Shudder series ever on AMC+ and became the best release in November for any movie or TV show in Shudder’s history. “We made the first season of The Creep Tapes completely independently, so we were able to truly and unabashedly get our freak on,” said to Duplass in a statement to Deadline, adding:
“The fact that so many of you watched it that Shudder not only asked us for more but asked us to go even further this time around? That’s just… really, really unsettling. And terrifically exciting.”
“We are beyond delighted at the opportunity to bring audiences fresh kills from the closet in a second season of The Creep Tapes,” added Brice. “For the series to have found such a rabid audience at Shudder is an absolute dream. It seems ridiculous to apply the term ‘labor of love’ to such an insane franchise, but it’s the truth. We can’t wait to dive back in.”
