The Boys is not any other superhero show. It's the badass superheroes wearing their capes, using their powers for lives of comfort and excess while funded by the conglomerate, Vought International. The Boys revolves around the titular vigilante group, led by Karl Urban's Billy Butcher, as they seek to expose the Supes, namely Vought's premier team The Seven, and bring a better balance back to the world.

Based on Garth Ennis and Darrick Robertson's graphic novels of the same name, season 3 of The Boys witnessed the death of Black Noir by the Homelander. But season 4 might see the rise of Black Noir all over again. A Twitter user Comicodigy shared several pictures for the set of The Boys, and these set photos have seemingly revealed a character’s surprising return. Revealed courtesy of Twitter user Comicodigy, the image from filming, which is currently happening in Toronto, shows that SPOILER ALERT — we have somehow not seen the last of The Seven member Black Noir.

The internal conflict between Black Noir and the Homelander rose and saw one of his closest allies in the prior two seasons of the show, only for them to grow apart as the latter's dark past with Soldier Boy came to light, including his setting up the ambush that led to the Russians capturing Jensen Ackles' original Supe. The Boys season 3 finale saw Homelander seemingly kill Black Noir upon learning he didn't tell The Seven leader that Soldier Boy was his father, but it appears that's not the end for the character.

After Season 3, creator Eric Kripke revealed that the show would be bringing Black Noir back, along with the actor who plays him. Nathan Mitchell will once again don the Black Noir suit, though he'll be playing a different character. It's a bit confusing, but it's an effective way to keep Mitchell around while also finding new ways to use Black Noir. "A character who is completely silent and in a black mask can be recast," Kripke told Entertainment Weekly earlier this year.

So all this drops the hints that the making of The Boys season 4 is in full swing. Starring Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, and Karen Fukuhara as the titular vigilantes and Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Chace Crawford, Jessie T. Usher, and Nathan Mitchell as the main line-up of supes, the first three seasons of The Boys are now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. The Boys Season 4 has not yet been given a release date.
