The Biggest Horror Movies Coming Out This Summer

Summer is going to be one spooky season.

Summer is going to be an awesome period for horror buffs, with a string of anticipated horror films coming our way.

A lot of films are finally ready to hit the theaters after the dreadful year that forced several movies to cancel or postpone their release schedules due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Here's a list of the biggest horror films coming out for you. 

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It 

Release Date: June 4, 2021



 

We are starting our list with the much-awaited threequel of the 'Conjuring' film series. 'The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It' will follow Lorraine (Vera Farmiga) and Ed Warren (Patrick Wilson) as they get to investigate another chilling incident of terror, murder, and horror.

'The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It' is based on the real-life trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, who claimed demonic possession as a defense after being charged with murder. The movie will release simultaneously in theaters and will be available on HBO Max for a month. Read our short preview here to find out more. 

The Forever Purge 

Release Date: July 2, 2021

The Forever Purge

'The Forever Purge' is the final movie to the franchise and will be a direct sequel to 'The Purge: Election Year.' The Purge might have been abolished the previous year, but a group of outsiders is unlawfully planning to continue the tradition. Adela (Ana de la Reguera) and Juan (Tenoch Huerta) ended in a Texas ranch and came face to face with this brutal group and must fight for their survival. 

The Night House

Release Date: July 16, 2021



 

Directed by David Bruckner, 'The Night House' is a psychological horror movie about a widow who gets entangled in a deep secret that changes her life. Beth (Rebecca Hall) lives in a lakeside home built for her by her husband, who died of an unexpected death. When Beth started seeing strange and disturbing visions, she sensed that something dark is hiding in the house. She goes through her late husband's belongings to look for answers, only to find more terrible secrets and bigger mysteries.

Old

Release Date: July 23, 2021



 

'Old' is a supernatural psychological fantasy horror thriller based on the graphic novel 'Sandcastle by' Pierre Oscar Levy and Frederik Peeters. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan, the film centers on a family on a vacation that turned out disastrous after discovering that the secluded beach they are at causes them to age rapidly. They must find a way to solve the mystery and get away before they run out of time. 

The Green Knight

Release Date: July 30, 2021



 

Based on the poem of 'Sir Gawain and the Green Knight,' 'The Green Knight' follows Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s strong-minded nephew who goes on a quest to defy a gigantic green-skinned stranger called the Green Knight. The film is directed by David Lowery and stars Alicia Vikander, Sarita Choudhury, Joel Edgerton, Sean Harris, Ralph Ineson, and Erin Kellyman.

Don’t Breathe 2

Release Date: August 13, 2021

Norman Nordstrom/The Blind Man (Stephen Lang) is back. He has been hiding for several years in an isolated cabin, raising a young orphaned girl. However, a group of kidnappers forces him to get out of the shadows after they took the girl. 

Candyman

Release Date: August 27, 2021



 

Nia DaCosta’s direct sequel to the 1992 Candyman is finally releasing this summer. The Cabrini towers may have been demolished years ago, but the legend of the Candyman remains. 

Anthony McCoy (Abdul-Mateen II) and his girlfriend Brianna (Parris) move into a luxurious loft condo in Cabrini. While struggling with his career, Anthony got in contact with old Cabrini Green residents who tells him about the tragic past of the place and the true story of the Candyman. Anthony begins to investigate but unwittingly opens a door that will make him question his sanity and reality.
