Netflix's reboot to the original 1990 HBO series The Baby-Sitters Club dropped last month with an astounding 100% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The series is about the friendship and adventures of five middle-schoolers who founded their babysitting business.
After the show's successful first season, can we expect season 2 episodes soon?
Here's everything we know so far.
As of this writing, Netflix is yet to renew The Baby-Sitters Club for season 2. However, we've got enough reason to believe that we'll see more from the show.
Aside from the high ratings, the show's creators have been giving a hint that more episodes are coming soon.
When season one aired on Netflix, showrunner Rachel Shukert announced on Twitter that Jessi Ramsey would be a "big part of season 2".
Ramsey is a favorite character from the books but only made a minor appearance in season 1.
With Shukert's announcement, we're assuming that bigger plans are already on the way for The Baby-Sitters Club. It's just a matter of time before we see season 2 episodes.
Plus! The cast already expressed their eagerness to return to the show and even shared ideas about what should happen next.
Shay Rudolph, who plays Stacey, hopes she doesn't move back to New York City.
Speaking to Pop Sugar, the young actress said: "I want to stay with the other BSC girls and have fun babysitting adventures."
Meanwhile, Sophie Grace, who plays Kristy, hopes Kristy coaches Kristy's Krushers, the softball team she heads in the books.
There are no official announcements yet, but if we take a look at the previous season's schedule, we're guessing it will be here by at least by mid-2021. That is if the show gets renewed at least a few months from now.
The Baby-Sitters Club premiered on Netflix on July 3, 2020.
If the show gets renewed for season 2, we're expecting the major cast to reprise their roles. This includes Sophie Grace as Kristy Thomas, Momona Tamada as Claudia Kishi, Shay Rudolph as Stacey McGill, Malia Baker as Mary Anne Spier, Alicia Silverstone as Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer, Mark Feuerstein as Watson Brewer, and Xochitl Gomez as Dawn Schafer.
Expect more of Anais Lee, too, as she plays Jessi Ramsey. The showrunner already mentioned she'll play a bigger role for the next season.
Aside from expecting more from the fan-favorite Ramsey, the Baby-Sitters Club will be up for bigger challenges in season 2.
The girls are finally made Counselors-in-Training, which means that bigger responsibilities will be placed on their shoulders for the follow-up season.
Shukert also gives a little insight into her plans on season 2.
When asked about the show's storyline, Shukert said via Vanity Fair: "There's so many. I love how Kristy evolves in her new family. I always have really loved Mary Anne and Dawn--as their parents get closer, how that kind of changes their relationship."
With the renewal still pending, we're likely to wait longer before seeing season 2's official trailer.
For now, here's the official trailer for season 1. Let's take a look back at the first time we saw our strong and driven middle-school girls.
