It's been over 30 years since Road House hit the big screen, and it looks like a remake is in the works. So who is going to play Dalton? Dalton, a bouncer hired to clean up one of the rowdiest, loudest bars in Missouri, The Double Deuce, was played by the late Patrick Swayze in the original action movie. The protagonist is put to the test when he has to protect his town from a corrupt businessman. The movie won tons of fans over the years, and the role will forever be remembered as one of Swayze's best performances. The original version was directed by Rowdy Herrington. Currently, sources say that the execs are already meeting with writers to rewrite a previous draft and view the MGM film as a high priority.

According to Deadline, insiders say that Doug Liman is in talks to direct the remake. Liman is well-known for high-speed thrills and action movies like The Bourne Identity and Mr. & Mrs. Smith. An Oscar-nominee is said to be in talks for the film. But will he be playing Dalton? It's still unclear. But the star who might be a part of the film is none other than Jake Gyllenhaal!

Nothing is certain as of yet. Details about production are still unclear as Gyllenhaal is about to shoot Guy Ritchie's The Interpreter, and Liman is currently working on his epic adventure thriller, Everest. Gyllenhaal has been keeping busy with multiple projects. His Netflix thriller The Guilty premiered at the Toronto Film Festival, with the actor receiving strong praise for his performance. He is also set for his upcoming action-thriller Ambulance. Previously, the 40-year-old has starred in a series of big blockbuster movies like October Sky, Donnie Darko, The Day After Tomorrow, Brokeback Mountain, Jarhead, Zodiac, Brothers, Prince of Persia, Nightcrawler, Everest, Southpaw, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and others. Considering his incredible acting prowess as well as experience with action flicks, do you think he'd make a great Dalton in the upcoming reboot?

Speaking to Elle, he shared, "I think it's hard to express how much I've evolved as an actor. I've had such wonderful luck, great opportunities and have worked with some of the most talented people in the film industry. I think the thing that stays constant is my deep love of performing in front of an audience on a stage. There is nothing like live theater, and I don't think that will ever go away."
