That '90s Show premiered yesterday which was January 19, on Netflix. The spin-off of the very popular That '70s Show, developed by the same creators Bonnie Turner and Terry Turner, their daughter Lindsey Turner and producer Gregg Mettler, follows the story of a new-generation gang of teenagers hanging out in the basement. With pretty strong links to the original show from the 90s including a very similar format and many familiar faces the show is a treat for everyone looking for some light watch. If you haven't already indulged in this nostalgic ride yet, it's our humble request that you come back to this space after watching the show. Let's get started, shall we?

Hello, Wisconsin! It’s 1995 and Leia Forman, daughter of Eric and Donna, is visiting her grandparents for the summer where she bonds with a new generation of Point Place kids under the watchful eye of Kitty and the stern glare of Red. Sex, drugs and rock ’n roll never dies, it just changes clothes.
Like the parent show, this show is set in Wisconsin as well. Leia is now surrounded by a potpourri of friends that replicate the basic essence of the original show that everyone loved so much.
The glue that holds this show together is, of course, the Forman couple. The characters felt way more flesh-out than they did in the original. The cinematography and art style did a great job bringing back the 90s era into our homes once again. Pulling off this genre is easier said than done, and the show managed to do what it intended, taking us on a nostalgic ride.
Much like its predecessor, this iteration serves the audience ample drama that involves the main characters. We see Leia's innocent crush become a full-blown love affair. However, things did not really remain how they started as Leia had to return to Chicago. We see Jay break up with Leia as he doesn't think he is ready for a long-distance relationship. Meanwhile, Leia is also struggling with so much on her plate. She says that she will contact him once she gets home, ignoring his pleas to give this relationship another chance. So that wrapped up season 1, and we still don't know if they broke up for good. However, there is plenty of space to develop their relationship, also, on-and-off relationships are not uncommon in a sitcom, so there is plenty of reason not to stop shipping them.
