But while most Terrifier fans haven’t had a chance to see the sequel yet, Leone is already plotting Terrifier 3.

Is Terrifier 3 Happening?

Terrifier 3 is officially happening. Writer-director Damien Leone has confirmed that he wrote Terrifier 2 with the express goal of following it up with Terrifier 3, Leone stated in an interview, "I had a Part 3 in mind when writing Part 2." In the same interview, Leone spoke more on the future possibilities of Art the Clown's killer clown madness, saying, "There are so many questions brought up in Part 2 that are not answered, and that was part of the design because I know I’m going into a Part 3." Leone's words clearly indicate that Terrifier 3 has always been on the cards. That leaves it to Terrifier 2 to perform well enough at the box office for those plans to proceed, and it seems that the mandate has already been met.

When Will Terrifier 3 Be Released?

Terrifier 3 is scheduled to be released in late 2024 with some sources saying that it will be released on October 25th, 2024.

Terrifier 3 Plot and Expectations:

The specifics regarding the exact storyline of the upcoming film, "Terrifier 3," have been closely guarded secrets up to this point. In an interview with Variety, filmmaker Damien Leone shared insights into his creative process, revealing that he had a vision for "Terrifier 3" even while working on "Terrifier 2."

Leone said, "Once I figured out what Part Two was, I knew it was going to be at least a trilogy, so I’ve been working on this since I completed Part Two. Even while I was writing Part Two, I actually had scenes that I’d already written for Part Three because I knew where it was going to go."

While exact plot details remain shrouded in mystery, Leone's ambitions for "Terrifier 3" are far from concealed. In October 2022, he announced that he had already begun crafting a treatment for the film. However, he hinted at the possibility of the project expanding beyond a mere third installment, saying, "It’s getting so big that it could potentially split into a Part 4 because [he] wouldn't want to make another 2-hour and 20-minute movie."

Leone's vision for the upcoming movies in the "Terrifier" series includes a deeper exploration of the origin and background of the antagonist, Art the Clown. This promises to provide fans with a more comprehensive understanding of the character's motivations and history.

One exciting development is Leone's intention to incorporate some of his ambitious but previously unused ideas from the first two films. This includes a particularly intriguing element—an unrevealed kill scene involving the character Tara. Leone shared, "So that was a kill that I kept on the back burner… I didn’t even put it in Part Two. So that’s one I may explore. But there’s another one I thought of about a month ago, where it clicked and I said ‘That’s going to be the next bedroom kill scene’ — you’ll know it when you see it. I can’t say for sure I’ll ever top any of these scenes — it’s always going to be subjective — but you will know it when you see it."

Additionally, fans of the franchise can look forward to the return of Sienna Shaw, the teenage protagonist introduced in "Terrifier 2." Damien Leone expressed his dedication to pushing the boundaries of the horror genre with "Terrifier 3," ensuring that it maintains the uncompromising and unapologetic approach that fans have come to expect and celebrate. He declared, "Terrifier 3 will be another boundary-pushing addition to the horror genre, continuing the no-holds-barred, uncompromising exploits fans of the franchise have come to expect and celebrate. If you thought Art the Clown’s reign of terror in part 2 was extreme, you haven’t seen anything yet."

Terrifier 3 Cast

Also confirmed to reprise her role as the protagonist Sienna Shaw is Lauren LaVera. The actress hailing from Philadelphia has gained recognition primarily for her portrayal in the Terrifier franchise, although her portfolio extends to various short films such as Stalked, Night of the Devil, and How To Be Human. In Terrifier 2, viewers can anticipate a significant evolution in her character, as Art the Clown, the antagonist, appears to possess supernatural abilities that enable his return from seemingly fatal injuries.

According to statements from the director, Damien Leone, the characters in Terrifier 2 are meticulously crafted to embody an almost biblical clash between the forces of good and evil. In this second installment, which, like its predecessor, unfolds during the course of Halloween night, Lauren LaVera's Sienna Shaw opts to don the attire of an angelic warrior, drawing parallels to the formidable Valkyries of Nordic mythology. Leone further emphasizes the importance of Sienna's character, naming her as his personal favorite creation and deeming her role "crucial to the franchise's future."

This confirmation sets the stage for a highly anticipated sequel, where fans can expect the interplay of supernatural elements, intricate character development, and the enduring battle between Sienna Shaw and Art the Clown to take center stage.
