The first season of ‘Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann’ premiered on April 1, 2007. It has a total of 27 episodes, which concluded on September 30, 2007. The anime was a huge success. What Is The Plot Of ‘Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann’?

The remaining humans in a post-apocalyptic world get hunted by humanoid creatures called Beastmen. The Beastmen controls giant robots called Gunmen, which are created solely for destruction. To survive, humans have to hide in the deepest crevices of the Earth. Simon and Kamina are two boys born in this world. They lived in the underground village and never saw the surface of the Earth. Kamina is an ambitious child with big dreams, while Simon still hasn’t figured out what he wants to do with his life. Their lives changed when they came upon an ignition key while digging up the Earth. The key is an ancient artifact of war, and it inspired the two to head to the surface of the Earth. They tag along with an irritable Yoko, who carries a huge weapon in her arm. When they finally reach the surface, they are surprised to see a clear sky that they have never seen before. The three go ahead and explore the lands of ruins. They come upon a realization that it is now time to bring peace and fight the Beastmen. They met a lot of challenges and misfortunes along the way, but they continued to persevere as they unraveled the mystery behind these creatures. Their bravery has given humanity new hope.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann Cast And Characters

Tetsuya Kakihara plays Simon, the main protagonist of the anime series. He admires Kamina and treats him as his brother, although they are not related. The character is played by Yuri Lowenthal in the English Bang Zoom! Dub version, and Josh Grelle in the A.D. vision dub.

Katsuyuki Konishi plays Kamina, the brave and passionate teen who helps Simon find courage. The character is played by Brett Weaver in the A.D. Vision dub and Kyle Hebert for the English Bang Zoom! Dub.

Marina Inoue voices Yoko Littner, the third member of the group. Yoko is a beautiful girl with red hair. Although she is short-tempered, her mature and intelligent personality helps the team win many battles. The character is also voiced by Tiffany Grant (A.D. Vision dub) and Michelle Ruff (Bang Zoom! dub) (English).
