Naturally, the announcement that Netflix has officially renewed the series for a fifth season coincided with a number of other book-related announcements on April 23, 2025. There will be ten episodes in Sweet Magnolias’ fifth season. Dan Paulson (Chesapeake Shores), whose Daniel L. Paulson Productions is producing, also returns as an executive producer, while Sheryl J. Anderson (Ties That Bind) returns as showrunner and executive producer. Executive producer Matt Drake (Chesapeake Shores) will be involved. One of the co-executive producers is Norman Buckley.
