Strike The Blood is one of the latest popular anime series in Japan, consistently airing new season episodes since 2013.
Strike The Blood is based on the popular Japanese light novel series by Gakuto Mikumo with illustrations by Manyako. It follows the story of an ordinary high schooler who's destined to become the Fourth Progenitor, a very powerful vampire that could threaten the power of the existing three Progenitors.
The show is currently airing its fourth season, but fans are already wondering if this is going to be the last.
Here's what we know so far.
As of this writing, there are still no official announcements for Strike The Blood season 5. However, there's a huge chance for the anime series to return for one more season to conclude the story.
On June 3, 2020, Anime Network reported that the main story of Gakuto Mikumo's Strike the Blood novel series would end in the 22nd compiled book volume set which was released on August 7, 2020.
Although there are still no confirmations, this could be the possible source material for a season finale for the anime series.
The first season of the anime series aired in Japan from October 4, 2013, to March 28, 2014, with 24 episodes. Strike The Blood II aired between November 2016 and May 2017. Strike the Blood III released in December 2018 to September 2019. Strike the Blood IV is currently airing from April 2020 to June 2021.
It's too early to tell for now. With no confirmation for season 5 yet, it remains impossible to tell when the series' possible release date is. The past seasons had a one to a two-year gap between releasing new seasons. However, the fifth season is likely to take a longer production time compared to previous installments, considering the recent pandemic.
Strike the blood follows a high schooler Kojo Akatsuki, who's suspected to be the Fourth Progenitor of the vampires.
The series is set on the island of Itogami; a man-made island turned monster and demon sanctuary in the south of Japan.
The young boy's supposedly normal high school life went upside down after the three other ancestors hunt him, fearing they might take away their thrones.
Kojo frustratingly defends his life as he tries to figure out how to use his incredible power against the evil forces who are determined to put him down.
Along the way, he meets a neophyte, Sword Shaman, who became his friend as the story progresses.
