There are many celebrities who rose to fame only to leave their acting careers behind. One name that pops into our head is obviously Cameron Diaz but there are many others who have left showbiz and will not be returning anytime soon... Let's start with the one we just mentioned...
Diaz got married to Benji Madden in 2015 and then she decided to step away from the limelight and focus more on her daughter whom she welcomes in 2019 via surrogate. She reflected on her past and her decision to take a hit pause she said, "I really looked at my life and I saw what I had been — when you’re making a movie, it’s the perfect excuse, they own you — and I realized I handed off parts of my life to all these other people,” she explained during an episode of the "In Goop Health: The Sessions" video series. “They took it. I basically had to take it back and take responsibility for my life."
Thank God he's back! Brendan Fraser was a household name back in the early 2000s after appearing in George of the Jungle and also The Mummy trilogy among other films. He took a step back from his career in acting in the late 2000s and stated his health issues and the reason. In 2019 the actor made headlines when he made some serious allegations against the former HFPA president Philip Berk. He said that the man groped and sexually assaulted him. Fraser is again making headlines for his performance in The Whale.
The actor rose to fame after portraying Jake Ryan opposite Molly Ringwald in the 1980's movie Sixteen Candles. He also bagged roles in Wild Hearts Can't Be Broken, Vision Quest, and Mermaids. The actor however moved back to Pennsylvania with his family and opened a woodworking shop.
