What Is The Plot Of Star Trek 4?

The title of the fourth installment has not been decided yet, but the plot of the film was revealed by Paramount Pictures a few years ago. The plot, as reported by Screenrant, reads: "In the next installment of the epic space adventure, Chris Pine's Captain Kirk will cross paths with a man he never had a chance to meet, but whose legacy has haunted him since the day he was born: his father. Chris Hemsworth, who appeared in 2009's Star Trek, will return to the space saga as George Kirk to star alongside Pine."

The film series was, however, halted for a while as they considered several options, including Noah Hawley's story that introduced new characters and even included a plot about a deadly virus which was considered inappropriate in light of the pandemic. Paramount Pictures even considered other stories, but the deliberation is still on. The film is still going to be made, but work on it has been picked up from scratch.

Who Is Cast In Star Trek 4?

Before the release of Star Trek Beyond,  the main cast members of the Star Trek franchise's reboot films, Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, had their contracts renegotiated to return for a fourth film. They were given raises and are confirmed to return to their respective roles as Kirk and Spock. Based on the stories of one of the scripts, there are chances of Chris Hemsworth returning to the fourth film as well. Dr. Leonard' Bones' McCoy played by Karl Urban has also expressed his desire to return to the film franchise.

The film will have J. J. Abrams as producer, and there was also a high possibility of Quentin Tarantino directing the film before he dropped out. Kalinda Vazquez has been hired by Paramount to script the project.

When Will Star Trek 4 Release?

Star Trek feature has been slated for release on June 9, 2023. More details about the status of the project are awaited. "We're not doing Kirk, and we're not doing Picard," Hawley told Variety. "It's a start from scratch that then allows us to do what we did with Fargo, where for the first three hours you go, 'Oh, it really has nothing to do with the movie,' and then you find the money. So you reward the audience with a thing that they love."
