‘Squid Game’ Creator Gives Us An Update On Season 2

Squid Game director left us an update on the progress of season 2 during a Red Carpet interview last night.

Squid Game Season 2

Have you heard of Squid Game? Trick question, of course, you have. Even if you didn't watch it, I'm sure your friends or your friends' friends have been talking about it. The show became an international sensation and the final episode left a lot to be desired, paving the way for a second season.

The second season has already been confirmed but we don't know anything about it yet.

Last night, at the Critics' Choice Awards, Squid Game bagged the awards for Best Foreign Language Series and Best Actor in a Drama Series (for Lee Jung Jae’s Gi-hun).

After the event, Variety asked Hwang Dong-hyuk what we can expect from season 2. Dong-hyuk responded by saying that the second season is still only in his head and hasn't made it onto paper yet. The reporter tried to get more out of him but Dong-hyuk is keeping the details under wraps. He did however confirm that Lee Jung Jae will be returning.

It’s here. Not on the page, it’s here [his head]. Everything is secret. I cannot tell anything, But he will come back and do something for the world.

Check out the Red Carpet interview below:

We can expect the plot of season 2 to likely revolve around Gi-Hun trying to take down the creators of the games in whatever way possible. He may participate in another round of games and help out new contestants in winning the game and overthrowing the leaders. It's very hard to tell the way Dong-hyuk is going to go with the new season. We can only hope that it's good, or even better than the first. Dong-hyuk has a big act to follow.
