The sci-fi series starring Adam Scott has become a sleeper hit, here's everything we know about the upcoming season of 'Severance'
The mind-bending sci-fi series by Dan Erickson named Severance made its name ever since it was released on Apple TV. The very unique premise has garnered a fanbase pretty quickly and has bagged various accolades already. The first season might arguably be one of the most anticipated series on Apple TV+ right now. Far corners of the internet are already brewing crazy fan theories and we can't see how the next season will unravel. Here's everything we know about the upcoming season of Severance.
Many reported that the shooting of the second season started in late October 2022, and since then, many have even posted behind-the-scenes snippets online. The show will reportedly continue shooting till at least May 2023. So the show might go into post-production post-May, and we might not see the next season this year.
This show got us thinking about the nature of the work the four protagonists of the show do. Mark, Dylan, Irving, and Helly are microdata refiners at the fictional biotech mega-corporation called Luman Industries. The work they do is highly confidential, and they all go through a procedure called "severance" that kind of separate their consciousness from their outside selves. In season 2, we might see that the work might be truly useless and entirely a baseless experiment that gauges human compliance. We might see them rebel against the organization and get their life back on track. Also, many questions need season 2 to hopefully answer.
Here's the cast list of Severance, Adam Scott as Mark, Britt Lower as Helly, Zach Cherry as Dylan, and John Turturro plays Irving. Patricia Arquette will be returning as Mrs. Cobel, Tramell Tillman will return as Mr. Micheck, Dichen Lachman will return as Ms. Casey/ Gemma, and of course, Christopher Walker will be back to resolve the cliffhanger they left us with! Gwendoline Christie will be joining the cast, and joining her will be Bob Balaban. Britt Lower told Hollywood Reporter that she is excited about all the new cast members, “They’re really dynamite.”
Here's the official logline for the show,
Mark leads a team of office workers whose memories have been surgically divided between their work and personal lives. When a mysterious colleague appears outside of work, it begins a journey to discover the truth about their jobs
