'Seirei Gensouki – Spirit Chronicles' is a Japanese anime based on the novel written by Yuri Kitayama. The novels launched on the 'Shōsetsuka ni Narō' (Let's Become Novelists) website in February 2014. Hobby Japan published its light novel adaptation in October 2015. Futago Minaduki released the manga adaptation in July 2017 with seven volumes. An anime adaptation directed by Osamu Yamasaki (Hakuoki series) and featuring animation produced at TMS Entertainment, released in Japan from July 2021. The anime streamed on Crunchyroll. The first season was a hit, with many viewers liking the series very much. Now, they are eagerly waiting for the next season to come, and we are giving them some answers. Renewal Status: Renewed
Yes, the anime series has been renewed for season 2. The official Japanese website of the anime announced the news on the 5th of November 2021. The announcement read: "The second production of the TV anime "Seirei Gensouki" has been decided!" Along with this, author Yuri Kitayama thanked all the readers and viewers who have liked and supported their work regularly.
Season 1 aired in the Summer of 2021 with a total of 12 episodes. As of this writing, there is still no information on when 'Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles' Season 2 will release. Director Osamu Yamasaki stated that the second season "will take a little longer to broadcast." Therefore, fans will have to wait for a little longer for the series to return. However, looking at the past release schedule, the first season was announced in November 2020 and was released in July 2021. So, we could have speculated that season 2 would release in July 2022 or October 2022. But that date has now passed. Our next best speculation is early 2024.
'Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles' follows the story of Rio, an orphaned boy living in the slums. When he was seven years old, he found out that he is the reincarnation of Haruto Amakawa, a Japanese university student with a tragic past.
He also finds out that he possesses magical abilities and uses his power to help solve the kidnapping case of a little girl. His good deeds are acknowledged, and as a reward, he enters a prestigious academy for noble children.
The first season of 'Seirei Gensouki Spirit Chronicles' found a stopping point in Volume 5 of the light novel series. Hence, we expect season 2 to start adapting to Volume 6. In this story arc, Rio travels to the trade city of Amande to stock up on supplies and learn more about the hero summonings. He is also tracking down Lucius Orgueille, who raped and then killed Rio's mother, Karasuki Ayame.
