"We want to eventize this iconic series. We think The Voice will be on NBC for a very long time to come and we believe the best way to protect the brand, while also super-serving fans is to produce one amazing cycle this year."

The 21st season aired this past fall and featured returning coaches, Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Blake Shelton along with new coach, Ariana Grande. At the time the thank u, next singer expressed that she was "beyond thrilled, honored, excited" to join Legend, Clarkson, and Shelton as a coach. Team Kelly's Girl Named Tom consisting of siblings Bekah, Joshua, and Caleb Liechty ended up bagging the win on Season 21. Speaking to Entertainment Tonight after the finale, they said they were "speechless" and that the experience had "been amazing, the outpouring of love from the fans. That's something we're gonna take with us forever."

Coach Kelly added, "We were all talking about it -- not just the coaches, but me with my glam squad and everybody -- we were like, 'This is the best finale, the best season overall with so much talent, and they're all different!'" she raved. "Literally, I would have been happy for anyone who was gonna win." The musician is also excited for what's to come for Girl Named Tom. "We've been talking about it so much," Kelly shared, noting her advice to her team: "It's so important to surround yourself with such a good team of people that you trust and you wanna work with. Because that's it. [They] have the talent, the package, writing doing all these things. It's about finding people to be on your team that believe in you to get you there. That's a huge thing I learned the hard way and had to find out."
