The moment Sabrina Carpenter cried on stage when a firework detonated close to her was caught on video.
This happened on Saturday, August 10, while the ‘Please Please Please’ singer was playing at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco.
In a video posted on Twitter, Carpenter, 25, can be seen climbing down a platform, covering her mouth and crying as the fireworks flared all around her.
Dancers kept performing around her, and she fled to another area of the stage, seeming scared. Some accounts speculated that she might have been “hit in the chest” by the fireworks.
Carpenter, however, is rumored to have escaped the situation unharmed and made the decision to forget about it when she went on to write about her performance on social media.
Alongside images shared on Instagram, the singer wrote: “Headlined Outside Lands. Thank you to everyone who came.
“Special thank you to the angel that is Kacey Musgraves for coming out to sing and dance to Nancy Sinatra with me. And thank you to my whole team and crew.
“All the talented people who made this show happen on and off stage, I love you all so much.”
Despite seeming unharmed by the fireworks disaster, Carpenter’s admirers expressed anxiety when they saw the video online.
In response to the incident, several people posted on Twitter. One person wrote: “Wait omg I think Sabrina Carpenter got hurt and burned by the fireworks!!”
A worried spectator said, “THATS A HORROR MOVIE SCREAM IS SHE OKAY [sic].”
“She almost got burned,” wrote a third.
The country music sensation Kacey Musgraves made a surprise visit during Carpenter’s first-ever festival headlining act in San Francisco, where they performed a duet of “These Boots Are Made for Walkin'” together.
Musgraves quoted Carpenter’s hit song ‘Espresso’ as she shared a post about the performance afterwards, writing: “We were working late ‘cause we are singers. Last night was a short n sweet little dream. @sabrinacarpenter ily. Thanks for having meeee.”
After her major performance, Carpenter will embark on her “Short n’ Sweet Tour,” which will take her to the US, France, Scotland, the Netherlands, and Spain, among other places.
Sharing her excitement about going global, Carpenter wrote on Instagram: “Soooo excited to bring the Short n’ Sweet Tour to Europe & the UK!!”
Singer-Songwriter Rachel Chinouriri will accompany Carpenter on her tour.
